Answer:
Generally speaking it is not normal for the exhaust hose to be hot to the touch. It can become hotter depending on the amount of heat that is being pulled from the unit and the amount of heat that is directed on it from the outside. The length of the exhaust pipe is specially designed according to the specification of this product. Do not replace or prolong it with your own private hose as this could cause mal-function. If you continue to experience this issue, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

Answer:
Yes, this unit must be vented out the window. If it is not, then the hot, humid air from the natural operation of the product will be blown back into the room, and will thus effectively negate the cooling operation of the unit.

Answer:
This product has not been designed in a manner as to allow access to the drip pan. This drain pan is designed in a way as to provide for a self-evaporating system. If the tank does fill, then the water is to be drained through the valve behind the drain cap. This cap is the only access available to the collection pan.

I have the LG LP0910WNR 9000BTU Portable Air Conditioner . When installing and venting out the window, is it necessary for me to remove the mesh window screen? It will be roughly 3 or 4 inches away from the mouth of the vent. I could not find this information in the owners manual. Thank you.

Answer:
There is no need to remove the screen. Venting is discreet and not even noticeable from outside.

Not really an installation kind of person? Don’t worry. Most of us aren’t. That’s why we make portable air conditioners. This one has 9,000 BTUs, multiple fan speeds and even a programmable 24-hour timer. Which means you can control the temperature even when you’re not there. Cool, huh?
