Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what was needed We are very happy with our new LG portable air conditioner. Using it in the bedroom since purchase and it is keeping us cool on AZ desert hot nights since our HVAC died. It is wise to use the provided insulation strip between the window and provided panels with the hose to keep outside air outside. We did not and did not experience any adverse issues, but see where it would be necessary if we used the A/C daytime.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome machine! This is my second LG AC machine. I love it because I can move it from room to room for use. My landlord installed vents in the walls so I can do so. It is very efficient so my electric bill is not so high.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Loved it until now... We have had this unit for a few years, we have always kept it clean! It has been my favorite a.c. unit that ive owned. We don't have a hvac unit & can't get one until next year, so this has saved us on extremely miserable days. Here lately it is leaking all over the floor. We do not use dry mode & dont understand why this is happening. I have cleaned out drain holes, drained & sometimes it happens instantly, even after draining all water out. It can go days without flooding our floor, but it has gotten very overwhelming. We put a puppy pad underneath it every day & it fills up almost instantly, the water just floods out. We can sit it outside with drains open for hours and water is coming out the whole time. I wish I could just toss it in the dump, but I'd rather clean up a mess than lay in my own sweat all day!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a champ! Get your coat on in summer. Purchased unit 3.5 months ago do to the master bedroom was extremely toasty. Brought it home and set it up with no issues. Now in 98 degree weather and high humidity here in Florida it will bring the room down to the low,70's to high 60's in no time. In the drying function we freeze and have to turn it down or off late at night. Bless the remote! Not all that noisey either..less that most window units. This unit made me a hero to my wife....Yea!

How long can you run it before worrying about emptying the water

Asked by: Kempo
There is no way to determine how long you can run the LG 10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with remote, Model # LP1013WNR, before you have to worry about emptying the water collection tank. As listed in the specifications, it features a dehumidifier that removes up to 2.6 pints of moisture from the air per hour, but that is the maximum. How much moisture it actually removes will depend on how humid the environment where you live is. Keep in mind that this unit also has a self-evaporative system which recycles the condensing water to cool the condenser. So if you live in an area with low humidity, you rarely have to empty the water collection tank if at all. If you live in a coastal area or one of high humidity, then you may have to empty the water collection tank more frequently. That will all depend on the dew point index and relative humidity that let you know how much moisture is in the air. But you really don't have to worry about when to empty the water collection tank because when it gets full, the LED display will show "FL" and the air conditioner will automatically turn off to prevent spillage. That's when you will know that you have to empty the water collection and restart the air conditioner after emptying draining the water...^IFV

How do you change/add water to the unit?

Asked by: Anthony916
The LG 10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with remote, MOdel # LP1013WNR does not require you to add water to it. Like your refrigerator, it uses refrigerant (R410A) to cool. The only water that needs to be drained from the unit is the condensate that collects in the internal water collection tank when it gets full...^IFV

My lg does not cool as much as it should..it cools for like 2 seconds then throws hot air?

Asked by: Lenzo
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. There are several reasons why an air conditioner might blow hot air. This could be related to the window vent duct could be disconnected; it could be related to the air filters; it could be related to a machine too large or too small for the area it is trying to cool. Please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 to troubleshoot this matter.

When unit is operational approximately how often dose the water pan have to be emptied?

Asked by: Patricia3
There is no way to determine how often you will need to empty the water collection tank in the LG 10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with remote, Model # LP1013WNR. The frequency with which it has to be emptied will depend on the dew point and relative humidity on any given day. The unit can remove up to 2.6 pints of moisture per hour. The water collection tank can hold up to 2 pints of condensate, but keep in mind with which the condensing water is recycled to cool the condenser that the unit also has a self-evaporative system so there are instances when the unit will not indicate that the tank is full and needs to be emptied as a result...^IFV
