What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unit trips circuit breaker/not cooling We purchased 2 of these units to help cool our elevator electrical room. Let me start off by saying it worked for 6 months no issues, so with that being said, after about 6-8 months the units have stopped cooling and continually trips the circuit breakers. I called LG support and was told that since they are being used in a hotel that the warranty is voided. So I looked it up in the owners manual. It states "This limited warranty does not cover...(#11) repairs when product is used in other than normal and usual household use (e.g. rental, commercial use, offices, or recreational facilities) or contrary to the instructions outlined in the owner's manual." The room that it was used in was well within the specifications of the unit to cool. The circuit breakers are 20A. The unit requires 9.6A. No error codes were found on the AC display. I plugged the unit into different outlets that were on different breakers and the unit continued to trip them. The units are only blowing out warm air. Bottom Line: If you are purchasing this for recreational facilities, offices, rentals, and/or commercial use, STOP DON'T BUY THIS UNIT!!! you will be buying a unit with a voided warranty out of the gate. The unit does not cool a small room like it should either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Unit Purchased this unit to keep me cool at night without the entire house set low for sleeping only. Been using it for 2 years with no issues or problems. little to no increase in my power bill -- in fact it is the same or lower because the rest of the house isn't using the HVAC system. worthwhile purchase !!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Portable AC 10,000 BTU is good at cooling a large bedroom, but there is loud worrisome clunking sounds when the AC cycles or turns on and off.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Great! We bought this to replace a very old window unit and it is quieter, more energy efficient, takes up SO much less of the window with it's vent, and most importantly, deeps the bonus room cool. It was very easy to install and rolls easily so I can vacuum under it. The one drawback is that window kit has come loose from the window due to the weight of the vent hose, so we now have to prop up the hose and have a piece of wood in the window to hold the kit firmly in place.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from kept us cool I purchased this when our old central air went out and not having 8000.00 to repair it...decided to try a portable unit...we also ended up puttinga window unit in the bedroom). This unit struggle during our 118 degree weather by itself. It did manage to keep it around 85 degrees even so. After we put in the window unit in the back of the mobile, between the two it now around 70 to 75 degrees and my electric bill is 75 dollors less than when I was using central air and had it set at 82 degrees.. Overall very pleased with the unit. I did have to tape the hose to the unit and to the window outlet because it leaked air when left on its own...After putting tape on it it worked great! Also it only forces air out to the front, so no directional feature, which would be nice. Dehumidifier seems to be working great, and trust me the humidity is very high here!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LP1015WNR Review I live in Texas. In July the temperature has reached 110 degrees this year. I enjoy my backyard patio, complete with built in TV, Computer, Stereo and surround sound. Now all I needed was an AC unit to beat the heat. I purchased the LG LP1015WNR. Life is good. Even outdoors in 100 degree weather the LG put icesicals on my nose. And my Sons nose as well.. Thanks LG !

Can this unit be transported on its back

Asked by: Tds566
We appreciate your interest in this portable air conditioner. It is never recommended to transport or store this device in any configuration other than standing upright. Any other arrangement will allow the oil of the compressor to leak into the coolant lines, which can cause damage to the machine. If the air conditioner has been placed on its side, then it would be recommended to allow the device to stand upright for 24 hours before placing it into operation. This should allow the oil to separate back out properly.

There is a place on the back where you can hook up a tube to it. What size tubing is needed to do that? And what exactly does having a tube attached there do and is used for?

Asked by: chaze1992
The upper drain port for the LG 10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner, Model # LP1015WNR can be used in DRY mode only when dehumidification without the need for additional cooling is needed in high humidity. Under Cool or Fan mode, there is no need for using the upper drain port. You would need to remove the drain plug and the exhaust hose from the back of the unit an attach a drain hose that has an inside diameter of 12mm (1/2") and place the open end of the hose in a suitable drain location or outdoors...^IFV

Is there a way to drain the water tank without wheeling it outside and draining manually? I know there is a space to put a tube, don't know what size tube needed or if it would work?

Asked by: chaze1992
We appreciate your interest in this Portable Air Conditioner. This model has not been designed with a removable tank. The lower drain port must be used in order to empty the tank, which holds up to 2 pints of moisture.

The exhaust hose gets hot to the touch. Why?

Asked by: JackCelina
We appreciate your interest in this portable air conditioner. It is normal for the exhaust duct to feel hot to the touch. This is due to the fact that this duct carries hot, humid air out to the window.
