Rated 1 out of 5 blowing hot air
I bought this last summer and it worked fine. This year when I turned it on it blows hot air. Very unhappy with air conditioner.

Rated 1 out of 5 by GOhio Doesn't Last.
We purchased this in April, 2013. The first summer, it worked pretty well. The room is not that big and it was running during the day for about 4 months. The summer of 2014, it started not cooling consistently. The filters were changed every 4 days or so. We just set it up again, preparing for this year's heat. It's blowing hot air and it occasionally sounds like the compressor is not functioning properly. Look for a different brand unless you want to replace it in a couple years. Very disappointed in this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ashellb Pretty good, but could be better
This is my first portable AC unit so I don't have a lot of experience with these. I can't have window units in my apartment due to the lease, and its probably liability risk. So far I like it pretty well. It cools down my 12x15 (+2 large closets) bedroom in minutes instead of hours. I took it out of the box to try out and I had it pretty much fully installed before I knew it. So setup is easy. It cools the room which is pretty much what I wanted it to do. My room does smell like a hotel now. I was worried about noise from the outside, but even with the unit off outside noise is the same. With the unit on, I hear less outside noise. Its quiet enough I could sleep with it on easily. I did wake up with the power flickered during a storm because it beeps and goes through a cycle.
The issue that could have made it better is: this unit only has the hot exhaust to the outside. Any air flowing over the hose is going to get warmed up and defeat your cooling. Nothing you can do about that. The unit also pulls air from in the room to blow outside. That means you are pulling hot air in from other rooms or cracks. I think this unit would be much more efficient if it had both an air intake and exhaust. Because if ambient temp is more than 20-25 of your set point, it gets harder and harder to reach your setmpoint. You are drawing in to much hot air that gets mixed with your cool air. It also makes the unit run almost constantly.
I was hoping to see a drop in my electric bill because I was only cooling 1 bedroom instead of my 700 sqft apartment. So far its about the same. But I think I have this unit set to much cooler than my apartment AC ever was, not that it would be able to reach the lower temp half the summer. I think I also have been running my electronics more since I'm more comfortable sitting in front of them. Basically, I use them more because the room doesn't heat up to uncomfortable temps when they are on.
So to sum up: I am more comfortable but I'm not saving money with this unit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Paco Great product for the money
We've had this portable air conditioner for about six months. It works great! Cools 25 x 25 room really well in 90 to 100 degrees weather. This room used to be a sun room, has windows all around it and has no insulation so it takes a lot to cool it down. It is a little noisy but cools the room well.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Frank would not recommend
The unit vents room air outside which pulls hot outside air in.
In my situation this is very inefficient, it should use outside air for condenser.
Using temperature data logger to check operation, the compressor shut down only for two 5 minute periods in 24 hours of operation.
If the room is about 100 degrees and you turn on the unit with the fan on high it will shut down and latch out the compressor in about 10 minutes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sheri48 This product is user friendly
The controls are easy to use and understand. Cools the room well. Only problem we have had is the sealant to go in the window comes loose and won't stay put but we were able to make it work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PRuss Love this unit - works beautifully!
I've only used the AC a few times - but loving it so far. I own a restored duplex built in the 1800s with a flat roof - no attic. It's difficult to keep the upstairs cool and my bedroom is on the front of the house - so installing the traditional window unit would be an eyesore. I thought I would try this as it is not so obtrusive from outside. Installation was simple (I'm not the most handy person!) - I did it myself and within 20 minutes it was installed. My 20 X 16 bedrooms chilled from 80+ to 68 within an hour.
I haven't entered the height of the summer heat yet - but so far I love this unit. It is not quiet by any means, similar to a wall unit in a hotel room - but I like the 'white noise' while I sleep. The few nights when the temps have been in the 80's, it has kept me very comfortable (I like it chilly in my br). The fan only is a nice feature. Draining may be somewhat inconvenient as the valve is so low... but I haven't had to do so yet so I'm hoping it won't be a big negative. So far... so great
