Works like a charm!
I live in Houston, Tx & bought this unit for an upstairs game room (the only room upstairs) since there is only one main unit for the 2,700sq ft house, and the game room is always 10-15° warmer than the rest of the house - which is excruciatingly hot during the summer months.
I've had the unit for over a year now and run it just about every day. The unit does have it's quirks, ie: spitting out water from time to time (which didn't cause any real problems) but other than that has been a Godsend.
Last week I received a CH02 error message, and instead of calling a tech I simply cleaned the air filter (which hadn't been closed since I bought it... Oops!), And it fixed the issue. --hope that helps someone in the future.

Good Air Conditioner
Have used this product for several hot and humid months. It works well to cool the 12x12 bedroom and hallway on top floor. Wish it was quieter for sleeping. So much easier than Window unit.

Not for humid places
It worked ok during the first year, but now it's started spitting water when it's run for more than 1hr! One of these reviews explains how to fix it but you have to take the entire unit apart down to a level I'm not comfortable with to do it. The standard drain procedure also doesn't drain the entire unit, so it's prone to mould.

Short Life
I have had TWO of these in the last 5 years, never again. I don't have the high dollars to put out every two years or so. First one worked great for a summer, then about 3/4 of the next. Purchased a new one two years ago at the beginning of the summer, and it lasted 2 summers and here we are in July and it's spitting water, isn't cooling very well. I am very frustrated. I know its very hot right now, but I live in Colorado and our humidity isn't that high. My floor was wet when I got home after it ran for 3 hours.Bad product.

Cools well until design flaws catch up.
Purchased model LP1213GXR last year and it worked fine last summer and most of Purchased model LP1213GXR last year and it worked fine last summer and most of this summer. Towards the end of a very humid summer it started blowing out water from under the top squirrel fan while water collection tray in the bottom never filled up. I assumed that there was a blockage somewhere that prevented the water from dripping down. Once I pulled the cover I discovered the problem. Under the top squirrel fan was a plastic tray with 2 small holes tight against the lower coil. The holes are so tight to the oil that the opening is effectively cut in half. Probably worked great in the nice clean development lab but in the real world of dust, pollen , black lab hair etc. the little holes eventually got plugged up so the water collected under the squirrel fan. I took everything apart to clean out the holes and saw 2 other little holes on the other side of a partition in the plastic tray under the squirrel fan. I loosened up the plastic tray and carefully drilled the 4 holes to 5/16", drilled an opening in the little partition, and added another hole to the side in case the larger holes clog up. The final adjustment was to replace some open celled foam used to seal around the return air opening. The foam trapped water and whatever appeared to be getting moldy do I replaced it with a closed cell vinyl weather stripping.
So far so good. No water spraying and the bottom tray in collecting water.
A final note. I suddenly realized that this unit uses inside air in for cooling. So hot air is being pulled into the room to replace the air blown outside. I'll rig up a double hose rig for next year.

3rd Summer and it's Done For
I purchased the 12k BTU LG Portable unit in 2013. It worked pretty well the first year. Last year wasn't as good and this year it's pretty much worthless. It now makes strange noises, shuts off after a few minutes, and blows warm air. The de-humidifying feature won't even work anymore. Spent close to $500 on it so I expect better quality over time. This is my 1st portable unit and have experienced greater longevity (more than 6 years) from window/casement units.

Can i get replacement exhaust hose for this? Where?

How do I empty water tank
Unplug the air conditioner and disconnect the exhaust hose from the back of the cabinet. Move the air conditioner to a suitable drain location or outdoors. You may also place a pan, under the drain, that will hold up to 3 pints of water. Remove the drain cap and the rubber plug from the drain outlet. Once the water collection tank is drained, reinstall the rubber plug and the drain cap, making sure it is on securely. Place the air conditioner in the desired location, reconnect the exhaust hose, and plug in the air conditioner.

Why does it leak water
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this portable air conditioner. While it is normal for this machine to extract moisture from the air, and to collect it in its tank, it should not be leaking unless the drain cap is not secure. If this is not the case, then the unit may require service. What size is the drain hose on the the portable a/c
The owner's manual for the LG 12,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with remote, Model # LP1213GXR recommends using a drain hose with an inner diameter of 18 mm (11/16"). You can find an appropriately sized drain hose from a variety of home improvement retailers...^IFV
