LP1411SHR has 2 filters, manual only mentions 1. Should I clean both?

Fantastic unit. Upper filter is fine, easy to remove & clean. Lower, larger filter has a handle, but doesn't come out (easily). Should I pull harder? Or, should I not clean the lower filter at all?

Answer:
You have to clean both of the filters otherwise your unit won't work properly. Yes, the bottom one is harder to get off but you have the handle like you know and you just have to pull on it but also hold the side of it and pull it off to the left if you are standing in front of it. Just BE CAREFUL when you do it and you will be fine.

The a/c unit will work harder if you don't clean them when they look dirty. They said once a week but I believe you need to check to make sure on your own to see if it is dusty. You can see right through the plastic and see the dust.
I think it is great that you don't have to go out and buy a filter like the central air that I use to have. That is costly because you would buy a filter and it would say it is good for 3 months but it is all according to your house and I would have to change mine every month.
Good Luck and I hope that I helped.

We appreciate your interest in this portable air conditioner. If you have available access to the filter, without having to open the casing of the product, then it would be recommended to clean any accessible filter.

What are the dimensions of the LP1411SHR when the exhaust hose is connected, i.e. how much space is needed behind the unit?

How long is the exhaust hose that comes with the unit. Are they at least 2 feet long? If not, are there other longer ones that can be purchased?

Answer:
I bought my unit 10/25/12 and I already in 3 days have gone through that dumb Exhaust hose 2 times and getting another one this monday. They do not make them durable enough. They crack and also get holes in them easy. I would say that it is atleast 2 feet long stretched out but I wouldn't suggest keeping it stretched out because if you are using it for the a/c it sends hot air outside through that exhaust. If you stand outside the window, it will keep you nice and warm and the pressure is very powerful outside.
Hope that helps.
Good Luck

Answer:
The exhaust hose is 5.9 inches long and you'd need about 4 inches in of clearance for it.

Does the water drain or enter a tank and evaporate?

The lower power units 12,000 BTU and 13,000 BTU units use an evaporative process but the tank can fill and require emptying - I cannot tell if this unit is the same technology or if it truly drains the water meaning there is no tank to empty (which is my preference)

LP1411SHR unit is 14000 BTU Air conditioner and heater.
Unit have tank for water, but I cant locate it nor empty it.
There is always condensation on top of unit and every time I turn it off water is pouring out on the floor. Sometimes when is very humid there is gallon of water on the floor like puddle after rain.

Would not buy this unit again if I knew this would happen

Thank you for your question. The LP1411SHR has a collection tank that you will have to pour out when it gets full. There will be a display reading "FL" when full.

No, it doesn't come with a hose. I have the same one and there is no hoses at all, only exhaust that looks like the dryer hoses but not to drain it.
Hope that helped.

Answer:
This portable air conditioner does not have a drain at the top of the casing. The highest “hose” on the unit is the exhaust hose and diffuser that is to connect the unit to the window, and out, to prevent the warm / hot air off the coils from venting back into the room, and defeating the purpose of having an air conditioner.

P2 code?

Answer:
Hello and thank you for contacting us. If you have the P2 or FL error code displaying, that means the water collection tank is full. You would need to drain the tank.

If the code more so resembles the F2 code, that means the unit is in FAN mode and that is the fan speed that is displaying.

If it is in fact a P2 error and after emptying the tank it does not go away, try to reset the unit by unplugging it for a few minutes then see if it disappears. If it does not, we recommend you contact our Customer Service at 800-243-0000 as you may need service.

We prefer the strong, silent type—in our air conditioners and heaters, of course. This one has 14,000 BTUs, and is strong enough to cool or heat up to 600 square feet. And thanks to our Lo-Decibel technology, it’s silent enough that you’ll forget it’s even there. Plus, with our exclusive heat pump technology, you could cut carbon emissions up to 90 percent. It’s the total package.
