For the first 6 months it ran fine & was everything we wanted. Then the fan motor inexplicably began making a horrific, unbearably loud, unending grating noise. It continued to produce cool air, however the fan motor is so loud you can't stand to be in the same room with it. Since 6 months had elapsed it was no longer warranted, & we didn't purchase extended warranty from Home Depot. We're in a isolated town where no one seems to repair residential AC. It's very disappointing, especially since it was so nice when it was working.

Last air conditioner you could not see from floor you had to climb up to see. This is one reason why I purchased it. A great value for a good price, delivered to my door by UPS.

It literally took 5 minutes to frame in and plug in. A little noisy on high speed but that nicely drowns out the barking dog next door when when were sleeping. Well worth the price.

Is it normal to see thru to the outside around the damper when the vent is close?

When I look into the right horizontal/vertical louver - the vent level in the close position; there is space around the damper and I'm able to see thru to the outside. My concern is bugs/insects can come into the house thru the space around the damper Of all the choices I've researched, I'm glad I purchased the LG LT123CNR...quiet, terrific cooling, great value, good product; just odd to be able to see the outside around the damper.

Do you have to purchase the optional sleeve?

After reading some of the reviews about this unit, some people were able to use there old air conditioners sleeve. Is this possible or do I need to purchase the sleeve for this unit?

Demand control in Apartment application

We have an apartment application with 166- LG LT123CNR air conditioners on the house electric meter? Do you have a demand control system that would prevent all of he AC units from being active at the same time? It would reduce electric demand charges if we could cycle 1/3 of them off in a rotating 15 minute block. Can separate remotes be programmed for this purpose and controlled when necessary?

I apologize, but no; this air conditioner was originally designed for operation on a dedicated circuit and not in tandem with any other devices. As such, it has no control device, such as that which you have mentioned. The compressor system is simply designed to cycle on and off in relation to the room temperature.

which thru wall or window mount ac units actually work well as heat pump space heaters?

I just installed an LG split heatpump AC unit as a heater and I am impressed. Next, I want to install some through wall or window mounted units to use as space heaters in apartments.
