What People Are Saying

Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 16 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Would like to see a automatic feature Would like to see a automatic setting on the control so you do not have to adjust fan speeds when temperature is reached and fan speed is too high. Even in the dry mode it needs constant adjustment to stay in a efficent cost mode. Economy mode just shuts it off at the last speed selected July 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Exceeds expectations I read reviews before I buy, always. Take my word for it, this a/c unit saved me when my HVAC unit went out. It was September in Florida and it was hot outside but cool inside!!! Installation was a breeze. December 2, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Seems to work fine. Installation was a bit more complicated than expected because the A/C with its plastic flaps was about 1/4" wider than listed - therefore I had to remove one of them. The unit itself is powerful, as I will explain. I ordered it in July because it was unbearably hot. Two days after it arrived the outside temperature became much cooler, and remained that way for the rest of the summer, so I ran it for just a few hours. Such powerful cooling by just having the unit in my window - that's really powerful, wouldn't you agree? November 21, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good purchase This a/c works very well. A little nosier than i thought it would be but then again, we've had central air for the past 7 years until we moved so I think it's more that I forgot how the wall units are louder. September 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it When I bought this product I was replacing a very old unit. It is like night and day how much better this unit is. Much more quiet and efficient and less clunky for the BTU. I love the remote feature and that it is quite simple, only a few settings. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to get a window unit. September 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by so much better and smaller than last unit Much better and cheaper than the last unit I had before that was of higher btu than the new one! August 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 Excellent Product This LG Air Conditioner is an excellent product. I have to say that I am very pleased with it and from now on I will be purchasing LG products from now on. August 28, 2013

I just installed a LW1013ER in our kennel. I want to use the on/off timer so that the unit opperates from 7AM-7Pm under thermostat control during the on hours. The instructions are not very clear, please provide a detailed step by step process to accomplish this.

Many thanks.

Answer:
When the unit is ON, you can set the timer to turn off the unit automatically by pressing the timer button which increment 1 hour per push. So if the unit is running and you press the timer button twice, the unit will shut of in two hours. Likewise, If the Unit is OFF, you press the timer button when you want the unit to turn ON from the moment you press the button. SO if you leave home to go to work at 7am and you want the unit to come at 4PM, you press the timer until it reads 8 for hours from the time you press the timer button(do not touch the power button). Dont be confused with programmable unit. It's not.

Differences between LW1013ER and LW1012ER?

I just went to the store to purchase a LW1013ER but all they had were LW1012ER's. So, I came home with an LW1012ER. Still unboxed. What are the differences? Should I take the 12 back and request a 13?

No changes were made to the model. 12 & 13 only refer to the year of manufacture.

Answer:
We appreciate your interest in these products. The primary difference is the manufacturing year for each of these devices. The LW1013ER unit should be the newer model. The typical operations between the two models should be comparable. There is no need to return one product for the other.

Drain connection

Does the back of this unit have any type of connection that can be used to attach a drain so I can divert the water a short distance?

If no, does the water pan have a "low spot" where I could drill a hole and attach my own fitting?

Thanks.

Yes, and came with a rubber spout that you can insert into the hole to connect to your hose.

side of the power cord

From our unit, the power cord connects on the right side. Can we alter it so that it comes out of the left side? I notice that the opening for the cable is not in the metal chassis, but rather in the plastic front part of the unit. If you make a plastic front part with a cord opening on the left side, I would happily purchase it.

Answer:
If the cord is not long enough you can purchase an A/C extension cord at most hardware stores. They are 4' to 6' and work great

Answer:
I apologize, but no; the location of the Power Cord is related to the location of the control box. There is no method available for changing the location of this cord. We cannot recommend the modification of the design of the unit.
