Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use, keeps room cool. This unit was fairly easy to install and has kept our bedroom cool in Lousiana in the middle of the summer. We love the timer feature, so we can turn it off while at work and set it to come on and cool the house right before we get home. It saves money!

My unit freezes over alot and even when not froze up the air isnt cool at all

We have had this unit for only 3 years. I live in Wa State so the unit does not get used very often. The first summer we used it it was great. The past 2 years the air coming out is not cool and the unit tends to freeze over. PLEASE help!
Asked by: Kimber7921
The coolant has leaked out and it needs to be recharged. Make sure the leak is found and fixed first.

New A/C cools fine, but humidity levels are still high. Is this normal?

Have a temp/humidity weather station in my home. Previous A/C kept humidity in home at about 35-40% when temp at about 78F. New LG model doesn't get humidity percentage below 50%....sometimes even higher. Is this normal?
Asked by: LW1213R
I'm having the same problem and purchased this unit because it had the dehumitifier function. Went on line and found out if unit is too big for room it won't have the compressor on long enough for heat exchanger to get rid of moisture. I did oversize hoping to make sure room was properly cooled which obviosly was a mistake. I do think that LG could come up with a better dehumitifier in thier air conditioners since they build a dehumitifier that stands alone.

Will LG LW1213ER fit in my 26" wide window? The fact sheet lists it as 23.6" wide but specs call for minimum 27".

Asked by: flustered
The window width should be 27" to 39" and the opening height at least 16". The extra width is for the side curtains/installation kit.

Tell me about "slide in chassis"

Since this thing weighs 80 pounds, I want to understand how I install it in the window ... without dropping it three floors onto the sidewalk below! Do I install the outer case securely in the window, and then slide in the chassis? Describe how this works. Of course, the easiest way to answer this question would be to have the installation manual for this model on line. I haven't seen it. Is it on line? Where? If not, PUT IT ON LINE.
Asked by: dgol
That is correct; the installation instructions provided with the air conditioner show the removal of the air conditioner chassis from the outer casing. Once removed, follow the instructions to install the outer case before installing the chassis. Pages 12-15 of the owner’s manual describe the installation process.

My outlet and cercuit breaker went out. the A/C was pluged in but not on. Had the unit about 3 years and the electrician forced the reset button down and now the unit does not work.

I have my A/C in a room with 1) a passageway plus 2) a half wall opposite the A/C window. Any suggestions for keeping the cool in besides drapes?

Asked by: Pito
The only recommendation available would be to ensure that your air conditioner is sufficient to cool both sides of the half-wall mentioned.

Window A/Cs are inherently noisy. How can I reduce the noise? Wrap insulation around it, or?

Asked by: Pito
It is not recommended to wrap insulation around the air conditioner, as this can cover the vents and ducts, which is where much of the noise proceeds. Be certain that the screws are inserted back into the cabinet to prevent cabinet vibration which, in itself, can help with some of the noise.
