We have had this unit for only 3 years. I live in Wa State so the unit does not get used very often. The first summer we used it it was great. The past 2 years the air coming out is not cool and the unit tends to freeze over. PLEASE help!

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. It seems that there could be a problem with the sealed system of the product. However, this cannot be determined to be the problem without the air conditioner being inspected by a certified technician. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

Have a temp/humidity weather station in my home. Previous A/C kept humidity in home at about 35-40% when temp at about 78F. New LG model doesn't get humidity percentage below 50%....sometimes even higher. Is this normal?

Answer:
I'm having the same problem and purchased this unit because it had the dehumitifier function. Went on line and found out if unit is too big for room it won't have the compressor on long enough for heat exchanger to get rid of moisture. I did oversize hoping to make sure room was properly cooled which obviosly was a mistake. I do think that LG could come up with a better dehumitifier in thier air conditioners since they build a dehumitifier that stands alone.

The window width should be 27" to 39"
and the opening height at least 16".
The extra width is for the side curtains/installation kit.

Answer:
We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this air conditioner. The rear coils cannot be covered to prevent dust contamination. The rear coils must be able to draw air into the unit, else the motor and fan will overheat, causing damage to the product.
