Compact unit, great features!
Installed this unit 7/7/2017, replaced an older wall unit.
So far running great! Cycles on and off on energy saving mode. The room the AC is in, is oblong and has a sloped ceiling, measuring 7' 10" on one side graduating to 9' 3" on highest wall. Overall, room size is 450 sq. feet. (The unit advertises covering a 550 sq. ft. room).
Unit runs quietly and cools room nicely. Summer temps in our area average into the upper 90's, with several 100°+ days. Yesterday and today were 101°-102°
I'm so grateful this LG AC works as advertised.

Solid model but installation scenarios limited
Install last evening. Does not conform well to replacement windows. the entire installation kit presumes an original window and that the unit 1) sits directly on the inside sill and 2) thus projects out at a limited height above the outside sill. The installation includes instruction to 1)screw safety bracket on top of inside sash and into upper sash. For a replacement window, that is often impractical or impossible; 2) screw into the inside sill with 3 securing screws - I mean "Really" tear up the finish of the sill??? 3) foam support padding is useless on the 1/8th inch bottom lip of the replacement window.
If you can see your way past the installation issues - it's a very quiet and solid performing unit.

BAD APPLE
Bought this unit on 6-27-17. Installed and ran perfect, and super quiet for 3 days. Then would not turn on. Called LG and went thru basic trouble shooting steps. Still wouldnt power on. Had to remove and return to Brandsmart for an exchange. Got the 2nd one, and so far its great. Easy install. Super quiet operation. Cools house fast and efficiently.

Do I need a window support for this air conditioner.
The ENERGY STAR® LG 12000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW1216ER comes with all the necessary included accessories for a secure and proper installation. It doesn't require an additional support bracket unless your building codes require one...^IFV

How to insert the frame guides into the bottom of the cabinet

The large Fan at the rear of the unit has lost a blade - It will not turn properly without exreme vibration due to imbalance - can I replace this part and is it accessible

What is the difference between the lw1215er and the lw1216er air conditioner
The ENERGY STAR® LG 12000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW1216ER is a newer version of the LW 1215ER. It has a different CEER and EER rating and is more energy efficient, has a higher Dry Air Flow (CFM) and uses a more environment friendly refrigerant (R32)...^IFV

Should I pull the plug in the back of the LG LW1216ER airconditioner or leave it alone?
We appreciate your interest in this Air Conditioner and its components. While it is certainly acceptable to remove the drain plug from the back of the A/C cabinet, doing so can potentially reduce the operational efficiency of the device.

Is there a way to calibrate the temperature sensor? I have the unit set at 60° and it shuts the compressor off at 65°
