Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am totally pleased with this product I bought this unit at a reduced sale price at the time which resulted in it being an excellent value for the money. It has been installed in a Palm Springs private garage for motorcars and when the weather was hot this summer; did an excellent job of keeping the the room cool. Prior to installation, the area could be 140 degrees in the summer. We set the unit at its highest setting, 85 degrees, and it kept the room at that temperature. For our purpose only, we wish the unit allowed higher temp. settings; thus the "good" rating only for Features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This AC is working great. This AC is keeping the house much cooler and with the energy saver mode. It only runs about 1/4 of the time so the bill should be less now. I put a awning up over it outside and that's helping. I recommend this AC to everyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from cools quickly This unit will cool the house quickly but it is a very loud unit. And if you use the cool setting, it doesn't seem to shut off too often at all and if you use the power saving mode it doesn't keep the house cool enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product! I live in Florida and a air conditioner is practically a must have in your house. This unit not only fulfilled my need, but it went over the top. When I first installed and turned on the unit sure it was a little loud but it cooled down the house in almost a heartbeat. I originally got this unit to get rid of the central air that came with the house, but was sucking my wallet dry. Now my bill is down andI am happy! Get it if you can, you won't go wrong.

how do i use the timer

I just got air conditioner from home deopot akb73016010 remote
Asked by: kenneths
Setting the timer for your LG 15,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner with Remote, Model # LW1512ERS should be straightforward. On the remote is a 'Timer' button which when pressed while the unit is off, will allow you to set the delay time in hourly increments up to 24 hours for when you want the unit to turn on. If the unit is on, pressing the timer button will allow you to set the delay for when you want the timer to turn the unit off in hourly increments up to 24 hours. For sleeping comfort while you sleep, when you set the timer to turn off, it will increase the set temperature by 2°F every 30 minutes until it turns off...^IFV

Asked by: keith212
We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner. This model was not designed to be provided with a rear grate. Such a device can be added to this unit, but no such device is provided from the manufacturer.

Does this unit have a drain hose connector has an option?

Since the unit will be installed in a window overlooking a porch, must be able to attach drain hose to air conditioner so as to route condensation past porch.
Asked by: Homeowner100
Nadine is correct in her answer. There is about a 1" long plug with a hole through it that you twist into the rear frame of the unit and it snaps into place. Very easy. It has a bit of ribbing on it so you could buy a longer hose that fits over and be held onto it, if necessary. Finally; don't forget to ALWAYS have the unit slope downward slightly from front to rear when installing to assure proper drainage.

winter time maintenance

I live in Buffalo, NY. Do I need to remove my LW1512ERS air conditioner from the window for the winter, or can I buy a cover, etc. for the cold season?
Asked by: dadoloco129
Why remove the unit when you can buy a cover for it or better yet if you are good with a sewing machine make one to your taste. All you need are the dimensions(width, length, and height) of the unit and your all set!

Installing a lg-LW1512ERS

The installation video says don't install in a wall. I have my existing unit installed through the wall, and intend to use the same opening (Modifying as required). Why shouldn't I do that? Thanks in advance, Eric Ennenga
