Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeping my cool Great air conditioner, we live in sunny South Florida where August/September are the hottest months of the year. This a/c is keeping us cool and comfortable, it's quiet and quick to bring the temperature down when we leave it off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product is QUIET I had an older refrigerated window unit. The noise was so loud that you had to turn up the television. When you turned it off the noise was "deafening". The newer unit is much more efficient and again, quieter. Even with tv off and asleep at night the sound is not noticeable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best output for 115V I purchased this unit to replace a similar one that was about 4 years old and had developed a loud noise in the compressor. This one fit right into the old space, and works as it should. I chose this particular unit because the outlet where I need to use it is ~115V (110-120V) and this model has the greatest output in terms of BTU that I could find in this size at this voltage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Product works as advertised This product worked really well for me. So far I'm happy with it's performance. I installed this myself. I think it's fairly easy to install, but the instructions leave a lot to be desired. You're better off just using the instructions as a concept kind of thing and not taking them too literally because whoever wrote them didn't know what they were doing. If you can get past that, it's a pretty good air conditioner and does the job as long as you don't ask for more than it can handle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Air Conditioner I bought this for my family room which measures 16'x33'. It cools the room down very fast and very cold. I set it to 70° and in no time the room is at temperature. The unit is big and heavy. It took two people to install it in the window but it is well worth it. I would recommend this air conditioner to anyone looking to cool down a large room.

Why does the compressor on my lg 15000 btu window air conditioner come back on when I shut the unit of completely even when the unit is placed on fan the compressor kicks on I need help thanks.

Asked by: Notoriouz 78
We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this air conditioner. When the unit is set to the FAN ONLY mode, then there is no reason why the compressor should activate. If this occurs, then the device may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair/support-repair-provider-lookup.jsp.

The compressor stays on all the time and IT will not shut off even if you push the power button so it's always blowing cold air

Asked by: rusty37
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. Is the COMPRESSOR remaining active, or is it actually the FAN that is operating? It is normal operation for the fan to run continuously, while the compressor cycles its operations. Please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 for additional support in this matter.

AC thinks it's in Energy Saver mode at all times when it's not...

This didnt started happening until I cleaned the filter, soon after it would pump out cool air for about 2 minutes, then just run the fan. I tried cleaning the thermometer an placing it back in, but no change. I have no idea what to do, please help.

We regret to read that your LG 15,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner with Remote, Model LW1513ER is not functioning properly. Was the filter Clean reset after being cleaned? Will rain water entering the top of the unit when it is installed pose a risk for damage to the unit?

The open vents on top of the unit which are outside, do they need to be covered, or protected?
Asked by: OtherNick
We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner. Rain water is not a major concern of an air conditioner. Rain water, as condensate, will drain out of the pan. However, if this is in direct sunlight, then a covering or awning may be needed to aid in operation.

ac not cooling

We have had this unit for about 4 months and it just stopped cooling. It is blowing air, but not getting cold. Is there anything I can check or troubleshoot on my own?
Asked by: Anonymous
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. Check the circuit breakers connected to this unit to make sure they are not experiencing difficulties. Also, check to make sure the air filter is clear, and that the unit is not positioned in direct sunlight. If this does not resolve the matter, then the air conditioner may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair/support-repair-provider-lookup.jsp.

how do you close vent

Asked by: lcorn94
We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner. The vent is designed to simply open and close according to the pull of the vent stick. The small plastic stick that protrudes from vent duct should be pressed in to close the vent. It should not take a large effort to close.

unit turs off and on several times within the hour

LW 1513ER Turns off then after a few minutes back on for less than a minute not "cold air" then again (less than minute same thing), the turns back on cold for a while. The unit is set "Energy Saver" mode at 75 degrees and room temp is reading 79-80 degrees. Will this short out the unit? And where can I get a tutorial, as the owners manual does not specify operating the unit.
Asked by: Ringmaster
THE UNIT IS DOING A AIR SAMPLE FOR MOISTURE TO SEE IF THE COMPRESSOR NEEDS TO BE KICKED ON

Does this unit (LW1513ER) have a removable sleeve for wall installation?

For apartment A/C wall unit....
Asked by: BillyG
I'm no professional HVAC guy, but I think I can answer your question based on the unit I just purchased. Yes, the entire unit slides in and out of a metal "sleeve."
