Answer:
Yes. We replaced an old 12000 btu GE unit, and the wall opening was very close to the sleeve size on this unit. I installed a wider sill board to bear the additional weight, but the new sleeve slid right in as did the AC guts of the LG unit. It will require another strong man to handle it, as it is quite heavy and the tray needs to be lowered at entry to get it into the sleeve. I secured the sleeve with NO. Eight 1 1/2" drywall screws, five staggered each side and I also insulated the resulting gaps with spray foam both in and out. Outside, the final sealing bead was Butyl Rubber to match the siding. We already had the 240V outlet socket set in the wall.

Installation help on sill bracket mounting offset.

The directions say "Open the window. Mark a line on the center of
the window stool ."

But, there is then no mention of where to mount the sill bracket.

What is the correct offset measurement for these bracket?

We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner and its proper installation. Once the center point is located for the window sill, consider that the cabinet width is supposed to be 26” wide. This leaves 13” on either side to be the outer edge of the bracket.

We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner. According to the information listed on page 17 of the owner’s manual, after cleaning the filter, press “TEMP ^ v” together to turn off the CLEAN FILTER light. This reset must be done from the control panel, and not from the remote control.

There is only one window in my San Francisco apartment that could take a window unit. Unfortunately, I have only 20" from the window sill to the wall of the adjacent building. Is it possible to modify the mounting hardware of this unit so as to put the unit halfway into the room, instead of mostly outside, so that it would have room to exhaust? Please advise, & thanks!

Cooling a big room doesn’t always have to cost you big bucks. It’s all about efficiency. Our 18,000 BTU unit can cool a large room up to 1,000 square feet without breaking the bank. The Auto Restart will automatically turn the unit back on following a power loss caused by a storm, wind, or extreme heat— so you don’t have to.
