Answer:
Remove the screws which fasten the cabinet at both sides and at the back. Slide the unit from the cabinet by gripping the base pan handle and pulling forward while bracing the cabinet. Cut the window sash seal to the proper length. Peel off the backing and attach the Foam-Seal to the underside of the window sash. Insert the frame guides into the bottom of the cabinet. Insert the frame curtains into the upper guide and the frame guides. Then fasten the curtains to the unit with 10 of the provided, type A screws.
Open the window. Mark a line on the center of the window stool between the side window stop moldings. Loosely attach the sill bracket to the support bracket using the carriage bolt and the lock nut. Attach the sill bracket to the window sill using the type B screws. Carefully place the cabinet on the window stool and align the center mark on the bottom front with the center line marked window stool. Next, using the M-Screw and the Lock Nut, attach the support bracket to the cabinet track hole. Use the first track hole after the sill bracket on the outer edge of the window sill. Tighten the carriage bolt and the lock nut. Be sure the cabinet slants outward. Pull the bottom window sash down behind the Top retainer bar until they meet.
These directions should be found available on pages 12-13 of your owner’s manual.

Answer:
Generally speaking our units are very quiet. There are many factors that can contribute to a noisy unit. How is the unit installed? Is there proper ventilation? Have you checked to ensure nothing became lodged inside the vents? Is the unit the proper size for your room? All of these can affect the performance of your unit and cause stress on the mechanics of the unit. Please contact our Customer Support Specialists at 800-243-0000 for assistance with troubleshooting and possible service.

We may be buying an used unit but it does not have a remote available. Just want to make sure it can operate with all inputs on the digital panel as it would with a remote.

The remote control, for this air conditioner, has the same buttons as does the control panel on the unit. There do not appear to be any features requiring the remote control.
