What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't do it I got a LW2515ER 5 years ago and it just stopped working, but it came with a 5 year warranty so i got another one just like it. Well guess what? IT STOPPED WORKING!!! But It only came with one year warranty. I wonder why? Could it be because they know there JUNK!! . And they "home depot" could care less if my 85 year old mother is suffering terribly in this fla heat and humidity. I will never shop there again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lg Air Condiotioner - LG Electronics - LW2515ER I bought this product less then a year ago and its already having problems by making loud noises when its running.I am very upset with what is going on with this unit and would really like to request that this unit be replaced with 1 that works properly or get a full refund from this company.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from difficult to install The window AC unit works well. It is difficult to install, however. I have replacement windows, but the unit appears to be made for standard, wooden windows. I had to make some adjustments and provide my own support system for the weight of the unit. It took two of us. Also, the "accordion" extension to close the window gaps is a poor system. Someone needs to think of something better. I had to do additional work to help seal the window around the unit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A/C works very good I would have given it 5 stars, but the inside cover over the controls has very weak clips where cover snaps on. I broke one of the clips on the installations and had to use some tape to hold the cover in place. Other than that, it works great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Product data sheet is not included on web page. when you check the box for a cut sheet the 1-ton unit is the only one provided. I need a cut sheet for the 2-ton unit.

I have a problem with my LG LW2515ER window unit not cycling correctly. When it is suppose to shut off, there is a motor that keeps running and my wife has to shut it down manually to get it to turn off. The issue came up 1 week after the 1 year warantee.

Asked by: AJCunniff
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. During the normal COOL cycle, it is normal for the fan motor to continue running, even after the compressor stops running. Activating the ENERGY SAVER mode will allow both portions of the air conditioner to stop simultaneously. If this is not the case you have experienced, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

Installation of LW2515ER

Hi I just bought this model window unit. The installation book is awful. The pictures are so small, average eye can not see where to install the brackets. The video on your website is for another model. Please help. I have uploaded a picture for you thank you
Asked by: Arash
I agree. I was unable to use the brackets at all. I had to make my own support. The instructions were of little help and hard to understand. Also, I have replacement windows which made the fit difficult.

RE: LW2515ER

I understand it is not recommended to install this in a wall sleeve but could it be accomplished by cutting away the outside casing from the unit. I have not found a thru the wall unit with the higher BTU rating, also my existing hole is too large for the wall units that are available and this would be a closer fit.
Asked by: Colly
We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner. Modification of the external cabinet will result in voiding the warranty coverage of this product. This form of modification will also negatively affect the operations and efficiency of the machine.

Can this be used as a through the wall unit?

Asked by: KMullen
Hello KMullen. It is not recommended that the LG Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW2515ER be used as a through the wall unit since it is not designed for that. Through the wall air conditioners do not have louvers in their case and are supported by installation in a wall sleeve. Window Air Conditioners differ in that they have louvers in their case through which they draw air into the unit for cooling and to cool the heat coils. Placing this unit in a wall sleeve or restricting the natural air flow it needs by obstructing the louvers of covering them up would cause the unit to overheat and burn itself out...^IFV

what side is the electrical connection on this ac LW2514ER

The electrician wants to know what side of the opening does he need to run the 220 volt electric wire to this ac unit LW2514ER? Does the wire need to be outside or inside the window opening? I have not picked up the ac unit yet so I have to ask this question now as the electrician will be here soon.
Asked by: Terry5
The power cord for the LG Window Air Conditioner Model # LW2515ER is on the same side that the control panel is on and the wire is always going to be on the inside of the window opening. Remember that when the unit is installed in your window, you have to pull the window down onto the guide and then put the seals to prevent air from the outside from coming in so the cord could never be outside the window opening...^IFV
