Answer:
No its not normal, if it makes a scraping noise. The only noise you should hear is the fan, and the Compressor, it makes a humming noise when it comes on. May have been damaged in transit. I would return it.

Answer:
We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this air conditioner. Where does this scraping noise originate? It is recommended to unplug the machine, and then check in the air ducts to ensure nothing is brushing the fan. If this does not resolve the matter, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 for additional troubleshooting.

Answer:
There is a plug on the bottom of your unit. Take out the plug and tilt the a/c just a bit to allow for draining. My husband actually drilled a couple of small holes on ours! works beautifully!

Answer:
The water at the bottom of the unit helps it cool. It should not be a problem. However, if you need to drain it so you can move it, there is a round rubber plug in the back right side. Simply pull it off, let the water drain out, and push the rubber plug back on. (This is in the manual BTW).

Answer:
We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner. Where is the Styrofoam located? If it is inside the air return duct, then it is like for support in shipping. If it is positioned in another location, then it should remain as placed, as insulation.

Answer:
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. Typically, something like this description will not occur unless the device is angled too far forward, and/or the humidity level is very high. Check to make sure there is a 5 degree decline between the front and back of the air conditioner for proper water flow.

Say you need just a little extra cooling, but you want a window unit that really works. Maybe one with 5,000 BTUs, dual cooling speeds and a 2-way air direction function that cools up to 150 square feet. Well, we’ve got it right here. Not a ton of bells and whistles. Just a really great air conditioner.
