doesn not produce cold air
This item must have been sitting on the shelf for years (my dad owns the same model and has had it for about 10yrs)
The freon must have leaked out because even though the compressor comes on as usual, the unit does not produce cold air.
Just called customer care dept and am awaiting a service call date to be scheduled.

Just as I hoped for!
I bought this to cool off my bedroom in my 23 ft travel trailer when boondocking without power. Only pulls 4 amps and works fantastic using my portable generator for electricity! Only wish I had bought it a couple years ago, would have saved me a lot of sweating! Works awesome and is quieter than I anticipated.

Good unit for the price
This is basically a no-frills window A/C unit. There's no remote control, and analog controls on the front of the unit. The only thing I wish were different is that you could direct the airflow up & down instead of just from side-to-side. The bedroom I'm using it in has a high window ledge, and the air blows towards the ceiling and then is deflected down into the room. You don't have the ability to direct the airflow down to the sitting level in the room. Otherwise, it does what it's supposed to and was very attractively priced!

I just bought LW5016 air conditioner 2 weeks ago. And now its not getting colder. I dont know what wrong with it. What do i do?

How do you tilt this ac? The pan that holds water is full and water comes out of front grill and it makes noises. I tried to tilt but the brackets on bottom that holds the curtain is in the way. Again I put it in and it will not tilt.
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. If this machine has been installed properly, it should already have the proper tilt to the cabinet to allow all moisture to drain out of the back of the cabinet.

Can my LG brand model LW5016 air conditioner operate without any problems when powered by my gasoline generator rated for 1200 running watts 2000 surge watts.
We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner. A machine, such as this, should be connected to a dedicated, 125V, 15A AC current, with a 15A circuit breaker or time delay fuse. Other installations could prove harmful to the air conditioner.

My slinger fan is facing outside is this correct
We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner and its design. The slinger fan is designed to be on the outside of the machine, between the inner shroud and the condenser, as it is to be dipping into the condensed moisture, in order to cast it back onto the condenser coils. This is normal operation.

My window ac LW5016 came with Styrofoam on the inside. Does that need to come out or stay in

I just bought an LG air conditioning unit and it's making noises

where does the water drain out
We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner. The water is designed to drain from the back of the cabinet. The drain pipe and drain cap are located on the lower right hand corner on the back of the cabinet.
