What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ruggedly Built I've used this A/C unit for 2 summers and it works great. The best thing about it is it survived a 14 ft fall out of my window onto the ground! I was removing it from the window before winter set in.The cord got pulled out of the unit, a few radiator fins were bent and it had a few scratches, but after reattaching the cord it worked fine. I had to glue a few plastic pieces together on the side curtains. The compressor survived and still delivers ice cold air.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value! This air conditioner is such a great value! It was inexpensive, yet it is very attractive and cools the space very well. I love that it comes with a remote, too. I just can't say enough good things about LG products!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from cool The best feature I liked about this air conditioner was the remote control. I do wish the control would light up while pressing buttons at night. I do like the product and will continue to use LG products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Air Conditioner I am really enjoying my new AC unit from LG. It cools down my bedroom in 2 minutes & my bedroom is 200 sf. I love the remote because while working on my desk top computer I can just spin in my chair and change temps. I live in the Bronx in a Apt Building where it gets very hot because there is no way for cross ventilation & the sun just beets down on the black tar roof and makes it really hot. This AC unit solves the problem with ease & I'm as happy as U could be. The only negative is in the cooling stage it sounds a little loud or maybe its just me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent unit, but....................... It is noisy and has a vibrating noise that is driving my neighbor nuts. The compressor also shuts down hard, making a clucking noise. I tried different things but all failed. I don't want to make a complaint yet, as I have only a month of need for it. I will contact LG over the winter and see what they will do about it. It does do a great job of cooling, which is why I bought it.

Where is the drain whole located?

Asked by: dmdm
If you're standing in front of the LG 6,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner with Remote, Model # LW6012ER, in the lower left corner in the back of the unit below the fins is a hole in the base pan that is covered by a base cap. That is the drain hole for this unit. To drain the unit, you would need to remove the drain cap and insert the drain pipe that was an included accessory with the unit. You can get a better idea of where the drain hole is by turning to page 20 in your owner's manual where under the section titled 'Drain Pipe' are explicit instructions on how to drain the unit along with an ullustrated diagram...^IFV

How do I clean it?

If it starts to smell is it safe to clean it with a hose and dawn like the you tube videos?
Asked by: Stetlie
The front grille and the inlet grille may be wiped with a cloth dampened in a mild detergent solution. The cabinet may be washed with mild detergent and lukewarm water, then polished with Liquid Wax for Appliances. To ensure continued peak efficiency, the condenser coils (outside of unit) should be checked periodically and cleaned if clogged with soot or dirt from the atmosphere.
