We recently purchased this product and the AC unit is too small for the window we are placing it in. Do you have suggestions for how to fill the space between the extenders (curtains) and the window frame? Do you sell wider curtains and guide rails?

I apologize, but no; this unit has been designed only for installation in standard double hung windows with actual opening widths of 559mm to 914mm. We have no additional suggestions for installation.

Answer:
I believe you may have it on Energy Saver Mode. In this mode the fan turns on intermittently to sample the air temperature by means of the thermostat. If the air temperature is a few degrees higher than the set temperature the compressor will turn on and cool the room down to the set temperature. It will keep cycling this way unless you turn off the Energy Saver Mode.

Answer:
The LG units have a feature where the fan runs through the collection pan and tests the temp of the water there to determine if the compressor needs to kick in or not. You should find information about this in your user manuel. My unit cycles every 3 minutes, so when the compressor is NOT engaged the fan kicks on every 3 mins to make sure the room temp is still within the parameters I set

Answer:
We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner. It sounds as if you may be describing the ENERGY SAVING mode. If this is the case, the unit spins the fan to circulate the room air, so that it can measure the room temperature. If it is at a sufficient temperature, then the fan will deactivate. If it has gotten warmer, then the compressor will cycle on and start the cooling process. If this is not the case, then please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 that we might further troubleshoot this matter.

Answer:
Thank you for inquiring about the air conditioner. The power cord of the LW6013ER is equipped with a three -prong (grounding ) plug. Use the cord with a standard three – slot (grounding) wall power outlet to minimize the hazard of electric shock. LG strongly discourage the use of an extension cord because of potential safety hazards. However, if you wish to use an extension cord, use a CSA certified/UL –listed 3-wire (grounding) extension cord, rated at 15A, 125V. You should also have the wall receptacle and circuit is checked by a qualified electrician to make sure that the receptacle is properly grounded.

Answer:
If you live in a high humidity area you may need to drain the unit. There is no need in putting the plug in and leaving it in though. I live in Georgia, humidity capital of the world it seems. I drain my unit roughly weekly. The unit has to have SOME condesate in the drip pan to work properly.

Answer:
We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner. While the addition of the drain plug allows the water to drain earlier, it is not critical to install it, as the water will still be able to drain through the back of the unit.
