Answer:
After cleaning the filter, hold down the temp Up and temp Down buttons at the same time to clear the light. This has to be done at the units control panel, not the remote.

Answer:
After cleaning the filter, press the TEMP ^ and v together to deactivate the “Clean Filter” indicator light. This reset must be done from the control panel on the device. Using the remote control buttons will not resolve the matter. If this does not correct the situation, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

Answer:
There is no kit for a 41" window.

But I added a plywood sheet cut to size I needed to cover the uncovered section. Painted it the same color as the louvers and can hardly tell it is an addition.

Answer:
there is not a kit, but what we did, is add and extra piece of plywood to the excess opening of the window and then painted it to match the louvers of the air conditioning unit.

Answer:
Hi, I have this same unit and installed it in a standard side-to-side horizontal sliding window. I literally threw the included install kit away since its made for up-and-down vertical sliding windows. I realize this isn't the case with you, but what I did to fill in the huge open space above the unit may be a good idea for you situation. What I did is I cut a piece of 3/4" thick white laminated wood to fit in the space, and left myself a little extra room around the edges so I could use 3/4" wide by 1/2" thick self stick foam weather stripping around the edges of the wood to create a good seal. I would imagine you could use a similar design to fill any open space, of any size, in any window. I have included pictures of the finished install, hopefully it will steer you in the right direction. Just make sure you have the AC unit secured in place. You may also want to try this using foam panels (available at most hardware stores) in place of the wood. Wont look as clean and nice as wood, nor will it last in the sun as long, or be as secure against break ins... but likely easier and cheaper.

This needs to fit in a small window, 22 1/2W x 17 1/2"H max. However, due to sitting right over the kitchen sink, and having a faucet that sticks up in front of the window, the unit can't come into the room very far past the sash. The current one sticks 4" past the sash, and that's too far.

Answer:
Our unit only sticks 2 12" past the window sash. You should be able to easily fit this unit into your window's dimensions as long as you can lower the upper window (assuming double-hung window) down onto the unit.

Is the LW8014ER capable of cooling a space of 374sf?

Last year we purchased this unit to help cool an office of one of our tenants in a commercial building. The unit was recommended by a sales person at Home Depot who was given the square footage of the space. He advised that while the estimate square foot coverage was 340 that the unit should adequately cool a space of 374. The tenant is now complaining that the unit is not adequately cooling their space which includes a 43sf hallway leading to a bathroom.

Answer:
Yes, I should adequately cool that size of unit depending on the outside temp. The hallway is probably not in the direct airflow of the until.

I think it would be a moot issue to cool a hallway when the actual room the is in is being cooled properly.

Answer:
Our LW8014ER easily cools our 350 sq. ft. bedroom and on all but the hottest days can also keep the 144 sq. ft. landing outside the bedroom and the two add'l bedrooms off of that reasonably cool. Placement in the room may be a factor in not cooling your space, as would local brownouts in your area.

Answer:
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. This device should be sufficient for such square footage. If walls or doors break up this area, then the cooling performance can be restricted. Please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 to troubleshoot this matter further.

Answer:
I'm an experienced HVAC tech

I haven't seen anything saying the unit comes with a cover, not did the one I bought come with one. But yes the outdoor condenser coil can easily be damaged when hit with something or bumped into. If the rear of your unit protrudes into a high traffic area, such as a backyard or walkway, I would recommend making a guard out of expanded metal (available at most hardware stores), and secure it to the unit with short self tapping screws with washers, and you can run the unit with this guard in place. Be VERY careful that the screws do not hit any part of the copper tubing or coil, it will damage the unit by releasing all the refrigerant. If you just want to protect it from the elements while not in use, Then I recommend covering it with a tarp, or BBQ cover (or search for a cover online), and securing with a bungee cord or something, and always remember to remove the cover before using the unit, if unit runs with cover on, it will restrict airflow over the condenser coil and damage the unit.
