Answer:
I bought two of these in the past year like in early 2012 with an firmware update as late as summer and had absolutely no issues with Cinavia. I didn't realize this was an issue until someone gave me a newer model for Christmas that accesses streaming media and suddenly became much more aware of this dirty DRM thing. I'm returning the new model and bought the old 611 from eBay. But I noticed that there is new firmware posted on this site for this, but not sure if this update has Cinavia so I will not be upgrading. It would be nice to know if the update has this. But since this product doesn't have media streaming, a Roku will have to do the trick. It seems I no longer have a need for LG products because of so-called DRM protection. I guess this model is what they call, the last of the finest.

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this system. It is recommended to try connecting this BluRay player to another television to test its operation there. If it continues to not operate, then the unit will require service. Please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 to make proper service arrangements for the player. However, if the unit operates properly, then there may be a problem with the television input connections.
