Netflix won't play after a while

We have it all set up correctly, can watch movies no problem, and then after a couple of days I get a message that says Netflix cannot play the movie I want and to choose another one (which also does not work). We have contacted Netflix and they told us the only known fix is to unplug the player and plug back in. They said it is because the buffer on the player gets full.

We have to do this 3-4 times A WEEK! This is ridiculous!! Is there not a patch LG has that will empty the buffer so the data doesn't back up on the player? And this is the ONLY way it will work.

I wish LG would release BD.8.62.382.F to correct the issue with Netflix streaming. For 18 months I've had nothing but trouble.

Answer:
I have suffered this problem for a very long time and, sadly, there is no fix. I sent the player back 2 times and LG was kind enough to cover the shipping and handling even though it was out of warranty, but no one seems to clarify what the problem is and if it has been fixed or not. I rely heavily on Netflix and every 2 or 3 days, it will report a message saying Unable to Play video. Please try after a while. Only a hardware reset will fix things. But it is annoying to enter the wifi password and netflix login credentials every two days. They won't even update their Android app to use the phone/tablet's keyboard and insist on relying on their clunky arrow navigation method to interact with the device.

Answer:
This is a known problem which seems to be caused by interactions between the LG BD670 firmware and the Netflix application software. It only happens when you have been playing from a disk and then switch to watching Netflix streaming.
To resolve this problem, you need to reboot the BD670. Unplug the power cord from the wall socket. Wait for 30 seconds, then plug it back in. The BD670 will display a "boot" message for a minute or so, as it reloads its firmware program. It will then turn itself off. Turn it back on and Netflix streaming should work fine.

Hi there,
I have the LG 60PV250 plasma and LG BD690 bluray player connected with a Monster 1000HDX Cable, and a USB harddisk plugged in. Running the latest / updated firmware.

I am able to play 1920x1080 resolution files including MKV, XVid, AVI, and several other formats without any trouble.

HOWEVER, attempts to play 1920x1080 MP4 file (H.264 codec) gives the "Video resolution not supported" error.

Seems like a software glitch - your teams should look into this with urgency.

Thank you.

I have 55" LG LW5600 and BD670 and I have the same problem with 1920x1080 MP4 file (H.264 codec) files. What is interesting when I plug USB drive in to TV directly it works like a champ. When I insert the same USB drive into BD670 it shows me "Video Resolution Not Supported". According to advertizing BD670/690 support MPEG4 AVC but it is not true. Please fix this bug.

Answer:
The harddisk is connected to the Bluray player of course - That is why I posted the question under under "BD670" page.

I also copied these MP4 files to a windows 7 computer and tried to play them over DLNA. However it does not work over DLNA as well.

Answer:
We regret the inconvenience you have experienced. Is this USB Hard Drive plugged into the BluRay player or into the television? The TV does not have this codec, or resolution as compatible. Try connecting the drive to your BluRay player to allow this file to playback.

Signal Strength

Is this unit considered to have one of the strongest Wi-Fi reception capabilities? Would appreciate your advice. My router is no more than 100' away from my entertainment center but there are 3 plaster walls, a microwave and a cordless phone nearby. I've purchased a new router (Linksys E4200 from Best Buy) last weekend and am now looking for a new BD player. Current LG BD player has marginal reception capability and after the last update will not re-connect to my network. Two Iphones and wireless printer work fine but not the LG player.

had same problem in 15,000 sq ft house. had to use 2 wireless routers at different ends of the house. each router had a different network name. each router could see everything on each network. you have to make sure your antenna on you wireless router are at the proper < angel to the curve of the walls also, exaclty 90 degrees makes a big difference. easiest way is 2 routers.

Answer:
so far this dvd player is picking up a router with no problem and high strength, the router is on the 2nd floor around the corner, dvd on the 1st floor. remember, if there is a problem, it could always be the router, I'm not sure on the specs of your new router

Answer:
You need a source. Where is the movie coming from? If you have a blu ray disc- then, yes, you need a 3D capable blu ray player. If you have Direct TV, then you can watch movies/sports, etc. from there. Bottom line if you have actual physical discs with the 3D movies that you want to watch in 3D, you need a 3D capable BD player.

The Netflix app seems to crash my cable modem every time I use it. Originally, I was going wireless, but when this kept happening I plugged in through Ethernet cable. It is still doing it. Now I'm hearing that the Netflix app is to blame. (Not just for this brand, apparently, but lots of devices with the netfilx app are apparently buggy.) First, is this true? Second, how can I fix this issue?
