Rated 4 out of 5 by LGBlu Nice Blu Ray player
This is my first Blu Ray player so was previously only familiar with video tapes and DVD's. The quality is outstanding compared to the latter! It was fairly easy to set up, however I found the instruction manual not very explicit when it comes to operation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by CyxE8yVj really nice, delivers clear picture
We primarily use this to play DVD, Blue-Ray and to watch Netflix. A lot of other apps are available, many of dubious utility and some downright silly. How about adding EPN 3? That would be cool. My only complaint is that it's really slow as you move through the menus and load your Netflix movies. It's like running an 80's era Mac or browsing the web via a dial-up modem. LG needs to put faster processors or whatever into these machines. Easy setup to connect to our home Wi-Fi network. Single HDMI cable connection to TV is great. Analog audio output to stereo gives us really good sound.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Geoff1971 Good as a Bluray player, but...
When I purchased this player, I was looking for something that not only did an adequate job playing Bluray discs, but also something that could handle a variety of video files stored on a network drive. This seemed like a good solution. At first I attempted streaming hi-def mkv and mp4 files over the wifi with bad results. Mind you, my wireless network is exceptional, with dual band wireless N. I knew the connection was NOT the problem since I have a number of other computers and devices that stream files from my network drive flawlessly. So, I decided to go ahead and run a wire directly from the router. This improved the situation greatly, except that from time to time the player seems to buffer underrun, and the picture will starts freezing and skipping. I have not used it yet as an internet streamer, but is seems like this would create problems for that as well. If I connect a hard drive directly to the the device, all files play fine.
As a disc player, it produces an outstanding picture and upscales DVDs nicely.
If you're looking for a media streamer, I would suggest buying a stand alone device like the WD HD Live.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AJBS Great Player for the Price
This unit replaced an older SONY which would no longer play Blue Ray Discs( even after on- line updates). I liked the ease of the on screen display, programing & set up and the player performs flawlessly.
Good value for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by docdirtrat need a Wi-Fi connection, not Ethernet..
The quality is good and the playback is great, but take a little playing around to get the smart parts hooked up due to the fact that you have to use an Ethernet contention, a Wi-Fi one would be better….

Rated 1 out of 5 by SophiaKat Broke after five months; LG Warranty useless.
I purchased this Blue-Ray player just under five months ago. The product worked fine for the first five months, and then spontaneously stopped working a few days ago. Initially, it wasn't responding to the on/off switch and other command buttons. After 1 day of this, it stopped powering up completely (in spite of me doing all the necessary troubleshooting, etc.). *** Beware of the alleged LG 1-year warranty: this warranty covers only 3-months of labor; after that, you are required to pay a minimum $70 charge to have any LG products repaired. The 1-year warranty only covers "parts", which also means that they won't replace the product itself, but will only attempt to fix it by replacing parts within the appliance (hence, the extensive labor charge). I found their customer service department rude and incredibly unhelpful. Will officially never buy another LG product again. Sticking to the better brands.
