Answer:
Hello Anonymous! Thank you for your interest in the #D Smart Wi-Fi Built-In Blu-ray player. That is an APP that is not common to most Blu-ray players from any manufacture, but if you do have managed to download it into your Blu-ray player, it should stream. What is yet to be seen is how well it streams and that is a function of the company streaming the content (i.e. Amazon.com) and the speed of your router. I would suggest asking Amazon.com about this. Wi-fi Connection

I'm not sure what happened between yesterday and today, but my wi-fi is no longer connected to this device. It was working fine just a day ago, and I was able to use all of the apps that required wi-fi. Now, however, all the apps do not work on count that it is no longer connected to wi-fi. I have already unplugged and reset my router multiple times, attempted to reconnect the wi-fi, as well as set the Blu-Ray player back to factory settings.

When I connect to the router, on the TV, it shows the Blu-Ray connected to the router, but then shows the router disconnected to some sort of Earth symbol. I am not technologically-fluent enough to understand what that means. It also has a disclaimer that suggests that I should register the MAC number with my internet service provider - which again, I have no idea what that means.

Answer:
I had a problem last week with No Network connection. I reset my Modem/Router several times with no results. I finial unplugged the BP540 & plugged it back in. Picked up Network, of course I had to re-enter the Network information. I think I may have had a brief power outage that caused the problem. Hope this helps.

Answer:
We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this BluRay player. How many devices are currently connected to your router? How many connection channels can be used at the same time with the router? If the unit is still recognized by the system, then there may not actually be a problem other than this. Please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

Answer:
It may be possible to control your TV operations, depending upon the type of TV you are using. While holding down the TV POWER button, enter the code for your TV, using the numerical buttons. Then release both buttons. The remote is designed for SINGLE-DIGIT codes, ranging from 1 through 9. Depending on your TV, some or all buttons may not function on the TV, even after entering the correct code. When you replace the battery of the remote, the code number you have set may be reset to the default setting (1). You will have to reprogram the controller.

1. Do you actually plug this into your TV, or is it wireless? Just a little confused.
2. Can I put regular DVD's in the Blu-Ray player?

Answer:
In answer to your first question with regards to the LG 3D Smart Blu-ray Player with Built-in Wi-Fi, Model # BP540, Yes! The player still needs to be plugged into the TV via an HDMI cable. The Wi-Fi capability allows you to stream wirelessly from your router. There are currently no Blu-ray players that stream wirelessly to your TV.
As for the second question, Yes, you can play regular DVDs or CDs as well as Blu-ray DVDs in this unit. It is a backward compatible technology, meaning that it will plat any format that preceded it. Best part is that using an HDMI cable allows you to upconvert your DVD signal so that you can get a better picture than what the DVD is capable of on it's own!...IFV

BP540 HDMI ARC 1.4?

Connecting BP540 to Harman Kardon SB35 soundbar then to Samsung pn60f5500 plasma. Soundbar is connected via HDMI ARC to TV. For some reason when playing DVD there is a signal drop at regular intervals (maybe a "handshake" issue, as they say).

The audio cycles on and off at regular 4 second intervals. The Video plays steady.

If I connect TV to BP5400 and run optical to soundbar then there is audio but no passthrough Dolby or DTS from the BP540.

Maybe BP540 isn't HDMI ARC compatible?

We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this BluRay player and the audio signal. From the description given, it seems that the player is operating properly, else the problem would continue to occur when connected directly to the audio system. We would be happy to troubleshoot this matter with you. Please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.
