Rated 2 out of 5 by from SO disappointed! Every time I get another set of LG earbuds the quality is lessened every time. I started with a 700 series 4 years ago and loved them. I have had 3 other sets since and nothing compares. The ACTIVE has been the worst. It constantly disconnects with my phone sitting in front of me. And the newest thing (I have only had them for a month) is while on a phone call conversation it goes silent on both ends, they can't hear me and I can't hear them. The design is a lot different than what I am used to. Neckband is much smaller, which isn't a huge deal, but I could not see my husbands neck fitting in this style. Also the microphone is on the side of the band past the ear. It muffles the should and sometimes is not clear enough from being too far away.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from more trouble than its worth. im on my third one because they malfunction and lose connection constantly.if my phone is on my hip while im walking it loses connection and needs to be reconnected. the reach of the bluetooth is horrendus. i wear collared shirts at work and the call button constantly gets pushed and either opens google, or redials my last one of the rubber stabilizer pieces has fallen off and is lost and there is no option to replace it. the audio when in calls is dreadful. the audio is always broken up and scratchy. the output always sounds like wind is swirling around your headmaking it hard for the other person to hear you too. but the audio with music and videos is good when its not disconnecting on you. not a good buy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good sound quality Better sound than a lot of the other Bluetooth audio devices I have tried. Good fit around the neck and the Bud's are comfortable. I think that they need to go back to the old slide switch, finding the push button and having to hold it down isn't something that your going to do in a hurry.

No one can hear you unless you are standing on top of your head holding a spoon and its raining pigs outside. This is my third one and no I am completely done. It is the exact same problem with all, but luckly LG gave me a replacement.

This item also has had battery issues and I have had to swap out for a new headset now three times. I also paid too much for this product that doesn't meet up to my expectations.

How do you get it to tell you who is calling?

We appreciate your interest in this Bluetooth Headset. According to page 7 of the User’s Guide, the Mobile Calling Functions of this device include Answering Calls, Making Calls, Switching Calls, Redial, Voice Dial, Receiving a Call While on the Phone, Rejecting Calls and Enabling/Disabling Mute. The LG Tone & Talk, for this model, provides options for Reading Recent Messages, Using Speed Dial, Using Favorites to Make a Call, Making Calls from the Call History, Obtaining the Current Time / Voice Memo, Changing the Voice Prompt Language and Finding the Phone. A Caller ID feature is not available with this device.

Are these headphones OSHA or ANSI approved and what is the exact Soud decibels these are rated for?

The LG TONE Active™ Wireless Headset, Model # HBS-A80 has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. It doesn't have a decibel rating and the reason for this is beyond the scope of this forum but hopefully, our explanation may help to understand why it doesn't. Typically, headphone specifications show an actual impedance and sensitivity that define how each unit will work with an audio system. Sensitivity is how effectively an earphone converts an electrical signal into an acoustical signal and it indicates how loud the earphones will be for a given level from the source. This measurement is given in decibels of Sound Pressure Level per milliwatt or dB SPL/mW. (or in some cases dB/mW) and is based on a 1 mW input signal. The sensitivity of earphones is usually in the range of 80 to 125 dB SPL/mW. For example, if an earphone has a sensitivity of 122 dB, that means that 1 mW of power will generate 122 dB SPL which is over the threshold of pain and can cause permanent hearing damage. However, the thing to keep in mind here is that dB SPL is not linear and doubling or halving the input power increases or decreases the SPL by 3 dB. An input power of 0.5 mW into the earphone will generate 119 dB SPL, but a sensitivity rating doesn't mean much until it is matched with the output capabilities of the audio device you are streaming from. If your device that you have paired to the HBS-A80 has a low output level, then using a low sensitivity earphone will result in a low SPL. The HBS-A80 is a Class 3 Bluetooth device as is your Cell Phone and Class 2 Bluetooth devices transmit at a Maximum permitted power of 2.5 mW (4 dBm) with an operating range of 10 meters (33 feet). How much power you input into the HBS-A80 will depend on how much power you transmit to it from your paired device which ultimately, will determine its' SPL...^IFV

I have the LG tone active the first one. The problem that I have had with this one is the sound gets really low and eventually you can't hear from it. I think its from pulling on the cord so that it can retract does this one retract the same way?

I just brought these a few weeks ago and today the left earbud won't lock when I pull it out!  It just retracts back in the socket.  Is there anyway to fix this!  So frustrating.
