Rated 4 out of 5 by from I had two purposes for this device: Firstly, to connect to TV (LG 55UH7650). Secondly, to use with my Android phone (Moto-G). Both goals were accomplished but with less than ideal results, attributable largely (though not entirely) to my hearing impairment. Inserting HBS-W120 earbuds requires removing my hearing aids, and the maximum volume through the earbuds is insufficient for my watching TV or talking on the phone. To this degree THIS deficiency is entirely due to my hearing impairment. TV PROS&CONS: Pairing with TV took me a while and the help of LG support and . With my hearing aids in place, TV audio is excellent through the paired HBS-W120 using the speakers. For example, this allows one to continue hearing a program during a trip to the frig. This connection makes use of LG Sound Sync. The TV audio is either all from TV speakers or all from a LG-Sound-Sync-paired device). Output cannot be simultaneously from both. As far as disturbing a household, certainly the headset speakers can be much quieter than the TV, but as mentioned, I could not make use of the earbuds which would contribute essentially zero disturbance. PHONE PROS&CONS: Pairing was easy, at least partially because it was the initial step in the instructions. Multi-devise pairings seem to be more strenuous, perhaps only for the decrepit & deplorable. With the HBS-W120 worn under the collar I feel less conspicuous in public compared to those Bluetooth earpieces that I would never consider wearing. At home I really enjoy having text messages read out loud. I installed the Tone & Talk App on my Android Moto-G which makes it easy to turn off the audible notifications and then turn them back on. I would hope in the future the App could display the functional status of all HBS-W120 buttons/sliders/wheels. I would help me determine what I accidentally altered to prevent my hearing what I expected to hear. For me personally the most deficiency of the HBS-W120 is that the telephone audio is ported only through the right-side speaker. (This is apparently true for ALL LG headsets.) My speech recognition falls off substantially with one-ear voice reception and improves substantially with both-ear reception. I am told that the earbuds provide both-ear reception, but as mentioned, I cannot turn the volume up enough to use the earbuds. I hope that a bilateral speaker use can be accommodated in future headsets. With my hearing limitation, it would be worth getting a new one for this one feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Sound!!! It's been few and far between trying to find a headset that sounds great, let alone good, these sound amazing through the ear buds, and the external speakers sound amazing too!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bluetooth headset Nice music with the earplugs, fair with external speakers. The external speakers only have the phone call reception from the right speaker unless I've got a faulty hookup. With the earplugs, calls come. Nicely thru both speakers

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic sound unlike any other wearable audio! The sound from the 4 external speakers (2 on the top, projecting towards your ears and 2 on the bottom projecting bass near your collarbone) is unlike any wearable device I've experienced. The speakers create an immersive personal surround sound that is very satisfying. The earbud performance is consistent with other LG Tone headphones (the Studios are repacing my LG Tone Ultra). The size of the Tone Studio was fine for me (6'0, 200lb), but is almost literally the size of a horseshoe (but flexible in the middle) and weighs about 4 ounces (compared to the 1.5 ounces of the Tone Ultra that these replaced).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great being hands free!! Comfortable to use. Great sound when being in hands free appropriate environments (auto worker, cyclist) . DAC engine activated by the aux cord definitely makes it sound unbelievable. I am discovering things in music I've listened to for years that I can only hear with these headphones. The wearable bass speakers on the bottom are more suited to movies than music. I have two issues. The ear buds aren't long enough so they yank out of my ears. So when I take the call on speaker mode it only plays the caller thru the right speaker. Which can be difficult to hear sometime which results in my having to call them back. Minor inconvenience, otherwise GREAT PRODUCT.

Is a carry case available for HBS-W120? I bought a pair & love them. They really need to be stored in a carry case, especially when I carry them on a trip on / off a plane! Please provide a model # of a carry case, if LG makes one.

How low should you Let the battery go before you should charge the w120 Studio to get the most out of the battery life

Asked by: Biggie83
The Lithium ion polymer battery in the LG TONE Studio™ Wearable Personal Speaker, Model # HBS-W120 can only be charged in temperatures between +10°C (+50°F) and +45°C (+113°F) and should not be exposed to extreme temperatures, never above +50°C (+122°F) or below -10°C (+14°F). If used properly, the battery will have a long service life. For maximum battery capacity, the battery should be used at room temperature. If the battery is used in low temperatures, the battery capacity will be reduced. A new battery or one that has not been used for a long period of time could have reduced capacity the first few times it is used. When the battery reaches the point when it needs to be charged, a voice prompt will alert you that the battery is low and needs to be charged and three red flashes on the indicator lamp will also alert you that the battery needs to be charged. Avoid having the battery discharge. Apply some charge to an empty battery before storing (40–50 percent SoC is ideal)...^IFV
