2.3 Ginger Bread UPDATE PLEASE!
Date:August 18, 2011
Best Features: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality
"Overall the phone is very well made and reliable with a smooth and simple to use interface. Clear sound when making phone calls. Screen even dims automatically, depending on if you have it by your ear or in your hand, when you are in the middle of a phone call to conserve battery, which is a very good feature. The battery life is acceptable. I am on my phone probably a little more than the average user, so the battery will tend to die out on me at night time. The camera that comes with the phone will take fine pictures, assuming you set the quality and size to its maximum, without having to sacrifice a lot of memory. Video recording is good too, and you can even upload directly to youtube or tweeter straight from your phone. The internet browser has a smooth pinch zoom and the ability to open tabs so you can browse through the internet without having to lose that one site you were looking for all day. The home screen for this phone is fully customizable. With five different screens you can slide through and personalize. Pleanty of widgets and other downloads from the market will make this an easy proccess; heck, you can even add a few picture frames here and there. Navigation pre-installed on this phone makes it easy to travel, options included within the navigator would be to avoid toll ways or highways when routing your destination. E-mail is fast and with push notification, you will never miss that one important message you were waiting for; assuming you are connected to the internet via 3g or wi-fi. There is so much more to this phone, such as music, gallery's, apps and so on, but to write them all down would take me a very..very long time. If you decide to purchase, have fun. You won't regret buying this phone."

Optimus V exceeds all expectations.
Date:August 10, 2011
Best Features: easy to use
"I've had this phone for several months now and I absolutely love it. There is only ONE thing I'd complain about and it's the camera. My last phone (which was cheaper) had a much better camera. But that's ok cuz everything else makes up for it. SWYPE makes life super easy!!! Overall I'd reccomend this phone to EVERYBODY!!! (except photographers lol)"

Great phone... with awesome extras
Date:June 22, 2011
Best Features: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality
"This is a great phone at any price. While not the fastest, I can do plenty with it.
I can:
-make calls with good audio quality
-text fairly easily with the Android keyboard (with predictive text on)
-surf the web (Opera Mini is great on this phone)
-use wifi when possible (great when downloading apps from the Android Market at home or at a hot spot)
-read PDFs and eBooks
-play a few games... this phone's not the fastest game player, but it's more than adequate for me. Beats having to lug along another game machine.
-listen to music. The V can play back FLAC files with no problems. I recommend andLess or PowerAMP for this. CD quality on a smartphone. Very Smart.
It does slow down a bit, but that doesn't happen very often. A good app killer and battery saver app can lengthen battery time considerably, along with the usual recommended moves (lower screen brightness, no full time GPS, no auto sync, etc.).
The Skyfire Browser can help with viewing Flash videos. It compresses them, and uses less bandwidth to stream videos to your phone. Other videos (like MP4 from Youtube) stream with little trouble.
There are even office and photo apps that can allow document editing/creation that work on this phone. Not exactly a netbook/laptop replacement, but still a nice feature to have on a phone of this caliber.
There are even ROMS to further enhance the useability of the phone, but use those at your own risk.
Overall, this is a great value. Hopefully, the Gingerbread 2.3 update will come to this model, which should fix some issues. Otherwise, it's a great phone out of the box."
