Annual Solar Power International Exhibition
Solar Power International is North America's largest B2B solar event with 24,000 professional attendees from all segments of the solar value chain. It presented by influential solar organizations ( SEPA & SEIA ) in US.
LG is currently developing the tandem type which uses a wide light wavelength
range for high power generation efficiency, and announced the thin film solar
cell with initial efficiency rate of 11.1% in 2010. A pilot line has been
established and is currently underway to increase efficiency.
this technology incorporates dry etching in the second stage, resulting in
significantly low rate of 1% reflectance and more than 17.5% in efficiency
despite being a multicrystalline.
The product currently shows 18.6% of cell efficiency but planned to increase to 19.2%,
generating more than 320W of output, by the time of its release in 2012.
The current efficiency rate is around 17.6%, but is planned to reach 18% level by 2012
for its release. There is no significant increase in cost as it is simply added to the
otherwise low cost multicrystalline wafer, while efficiency is greatly improved.
