What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2 ovens I have never had 2 ovens before and find this feature really nice. Cooktop works great; from slow simmer to quick boil and so easy to keep clean. Very pleased with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the double oven Very happy that we decided to upgrade to the double oven. it has really helped with convenience and versatility. This is our first LG appliance, and it we appreciate the attention to detail - like the bottom oven slide out rack.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cooks unevenly Bottom oven burnt my pies and was not evenly cooked. Used exact recipe and temps as with old oven. Like the oven look but really disappointed in the performance so far

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Learning Curve - but good experience I've had this range a few weeks. Great Features. Infrared cooking is certainly different. One must get used to it, but it's an asset. It cooks more slowly than regular electric heat, but that's more of a plus than a minus. I baked Cornish hens in the convection oven but found it no faster than a regular one. I miss the drawer on the bottom for skillets; even though I'm only 4'11", I find it inconvenient to all but get onto my knees on the floor to insert and remove items from the lower oven, which is the largest. I find that due to the positioning of the racks, and the small windows on both oven doors, even with the light on, you cannot see your food while baking. Still, it is a learning curve. I am anxious to use the infrared broiler on fish. I bought on a friend's recommendation and it had a small dent in an inconspicuous part - so I paid half price. Not sure I would have spent full price on it. I find it rather awkward.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great features but some areas could be better I love the look of this range! It has many cool features like auto conversion from conventional to convection, powerboil, and a warming area. The double oven was my primary reason for purchasing this range. The range I replaced was a double oven and it's a difficult feature to give up once you've had one. The company from which I bought my previous double-oven range no longer makes them so I was forced to move to another brand. I looked long and hard, read Consumer Reports and customer reviews and decided on this one. There are some areas where I think improvement is needed. 1) the cooktop controls turn on too easily when working near the stove. When I reach for something in my over-the-range microwave, the go on. Fortunately there's an audio to to alert you, but still... it would be much easier not to worry about it at all. The worst part is while I'm using the cooktop and suddenly notice that something that should not be boiling is because I accidentally raised the temperature. I have to constantly check to make sure I didn't adjust the temperature! 2) the documentation could be better. I wanted to learn more about the Warming Area feature and the PowerBoil feature. The documentation for the warming area was very basic and vague. There ware no documentation for the PowerBoil feature. 3) The timers behave weirdly. The documentation seems to imply that they are only available when using the oven controls but I often want to time things on the cooktop. I'll set the time and it will appear to work but then I notice it has stopped. This has happened to me twice. I've not used the oven much and have only used it for conventional baking so I can't offer much feedback in that area. It seemed to work good enough. So all in all, a nice range but definitely needs a bit of tuning. I'm going to select "Yes" for would you recommend this product to a friend? below, but my real answer is "yes" with caveats.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful and Functional! I would not hesitate to buy this LG range again. It is the best range we have ever owned. Works fantastic and looks beautiful. It really looks like a professional range. Looks as professional as the very expensive ranges at a fraction of the cost. Love the control knobs being on the front. They lock for safety.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Compromise with an Odd Issue This double oven is a great compromise between a true, built-in, double oven and a standard single oven. There are many features and cooking settings from which to choose. There is one design drawback of this oven: the stove knobs are set forward. It is too easy to turn a burner on inadvertently by just leaning against it. We have done this countless times in a social situation while hanging out and talking in the kitchen. At least the unit sings to you when you turn a burner on, so you can quickly turn it off if one is accidentally turned on. Not sure why LG decided to move the burner controls to the front... Now the odd issue we’re having is that the right two burners won’t come on...except if your turn one of the left burners on, too. This wasn’t how it worked at the beginning. They worked fine and independently, so there’s been some sort of failure. I’ve tried to submit a service request, but LG requires a receipt to be uploaded and I can’t find it right now. My problem, not LG’s. When we cook ground beef on the stovetop and break it up, there’s a rattling sound that comes from the insides. I have narrowed it down to the slide out rack in the bottom oven. Minor design issue compared to the burner knobs. I know it sounds like I’m kind of bashing the oven. I’m not. Except for the couple of issue which can be repaired, we’re very happy with this range. It provides us a compact means to bake two things at once and it looks good doing it. I do recommend this oven with its quirks.

I recently purchased this oven. The specs say it only requires a 40 amp feed. Is this correct because usually it's 50 or 60 for electric range. But because it's new and energy afficant was wondering before I run Nee feed in new house?

Hi John q. As instructed in the owner's manual for the LG 7.3 cu. ft. Does LG recommend any types or brands of pots and pans for the glass cook top ?

Asked by: Teribob
LG does not recommend any brands of cookware to use on the LG 7.3 cu. ft. Electric Double Oven Range with ProBake Convection®, EasyClean® and Infrared Heating™ System, Model # LDE4415ST. We do caution that only certain types of glass, glass-ceramic, ceramic, earthenware, or other glazed cookware are suitable for range-top service without breaking due to the sudden change in temperature. We also caution that you should only use cookware and dishes that are safe for oven and cooktop use. You would need to refer to the manufacturer's instructions for that type of cookware. There is a section in the owner's manual that explains the benefits of certain types of cookware and lists which types are popular: •• Aluminum - Excellent heat conductor. Some types of food will cause it to darken (anodized aluminum cookware resists staining and pitting). If aluminum pans slide across the ceramic cooktop, they may leave metal marks which will resemble scratches. Remove these marks immediately. •• Copper - Excellent heat conductor but discolors easily. May leave metal marks on glass-ceramic (see Aluminum above). •• Stainless steel - Slow heat conductor with uneven cooking results. Is durable, easy to clean and resists staining. •• Cast iron - A poor heat conductor but retains heat very well. Cooks evenly once cooking temperature is reached. Not recommended for use on ceramic cooktops. •• Porcelain-enamel on metal - Heating characteristics will vary depending on base material. Porcelain-enamel coating must be smooth to avoid scratching ceramic cooktops. •• Glass - Slow heat conductor. Not recommended for ceramic cooktop surfaces because it may scratch the glass...^IFV

Can use a pressure cooker or a camber

Asked by: Kim H
The cooking areas on the LG 7.3 cu. ft. Electric Double Oven Range with ProBake Convection®, EasyClean® and Infrared Heating™ System, Model # LDE4415BD are identified by permanent circles on the glass cooktop surface. Pans should not extend more than 1/2" to 1" beyond the cooking area. Canners can be used as long as their bases are not more than one inch larger than the element. Use of water bath canners with rippled bottoms may extend the time required to bring the water to a boil and may damage the cooktop. You would need to use the high heat setting only until the water comes to a boil or pressure is reached in the canner, then reduce to the lowest heat setting that maintains the boil or pressure. If the heat is not turned down, it could damage the cooktop...^IFV

The Lockout feature on the LG 7.3 cu. ft. Electric Double Oven Range with ProBake Convection®, EasyClean® and Infrared Heating™ System, Model # LDE4415BD, automatically locks the oven door and prevents most oven and cooktop controls from being turned on. Should I take the racks out of my oven when I clean it? How do you clean the racks and the glass.

Asked by: Donlee12
We appreciate your interest in this oven and its proper handling. Oven racks and accessories should always be removed before running the SELF CLEAN function. If oven racks are left in the oven cavity during the Self Clean cycle, they will discolor and become difficult to slide in and out of place. Use hot soapy water to clean the racks and the door glass. Do not submerge the drawer in water, and do not get water into the door vents. Do NOT use oven cleaners, powders or other abrasives on the door. Do NOT rub, damage or remove the gasket in any way.
