What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best in Class! I can't say enough positive things about this microwave. We have had it for about three months now and use it daily. Not only does it cook food accurately and evenly, it is extremely quiet! It's high capacity sets it apart from others in its class. Another unique feature is the extended pop-out vent that allows more cooking fumes to be extracted from the air. The front of the microwave is also very easy to clean, as advertised. I highly recommend this microwave to anyone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This microwave has unique features This microwave has a larger capacity. In addition, the feature I like best is the exhaust fan. Unlike other microwaves, this model includes a special feature whereby the exhaust pops out (i.e. extends) over the front burners of the stove and then can be retracted once you are through cooking.

purchased LMH2235ST over the range microwave what is the recommended distance for the gap from microwave to stove

Asked by: jv3002
We appreciate your interest in this microwave oven. While there is no listed distance between the bottom of the microwave and the oven, the required gap between the overhead cabinet, to which the microwave mounts, must be 30” above the surface of the range. This will allow for sufficient spacing for the microwave oven.

our upper cabinet depth is 15". What microwave will allow venting out of the front rather than the top?

We recently purchased Model:LMV2031 and the maximum upper cabinet depth is 13" to allow for top room venting. Do you have other models that will room vent when the upper cabinet depth is 15"?
Asked by: PapaW
We appreciate your interest in these LG microwave ovens. It appears that all of our current microwave models are designed to provide room venting, blowing upward, and yet are slightly under the 15” depth

Where to find install instructions

I just purchased a home and bought this microwave. Have not moved in yet and would like to know how to install this. Does it mount to the wall?If so I would like to open the wall and install blocks of wood to mount it,and patch and paint the wall.before I move in.
Asked by: Pipeslinger
It comes with a wall bracket for stabiltiy, but the weight is carried by screws that hold it up from the top. You'd better plan on a cabinet of some sort over the microwave. Mounting instructions are included.

External ventilation connection option on this microwave

Can this microwave be connected to already existing external ventilation connection or does it only recirculate the vent air? Are there other OTR 30" microwaves that do external vent if this one does not?
Asked by: bmcole1
Yes, it will work with external vent. Exactly fit my existing pipe, so it's probably "standard".

External ventilation option?

Does this microwave offer an optional external vent through the top? If so, what size vent does it use. It would be nice if the installation instructions were online so that questions such as these would be easily answered.
Asked by: MaLum
Yes, it will vent externally. The fitting is included with the oven. Mine's already installed so I can't measure it, but it exactly fit the vent pipe I had from the last microwave oven. Hope this helps.

I recently purchased this microwave as part of a total kitchen remodel. We put in a gas range under the microwave.

What clearance should I have from the stove top to the bottom of the microwave. The range is also LG with 5 burners.
Asked by: JayBKitchen
Minimum clearance is 30" from the bottom of the cabinet to the cooking surface or countertop. This measurement is the same for gas or electric. This will leave approximately 17" between your cooking surface and the bottom of the MW with the slide out exhaust included in this measurement (19" without the exhaust installed). If additional data is required please contact LG Support for installation documentation.
