What People Are Saying

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dead after 3 Years and 2 Months Purchased the LMHM2017 in Nov. 2011 and absolutely loved this microwave. Used 90% of the cook settings. Popcorn setting was on the money. The Extend-A-Vent was very useful when foods were burned on the underlying gas range to quickly dissipate smoke. However, the microwave did not last for a reasonable amount of time. It died in January 2015 so I'm out hunting a replacement. If LG had not reduced the height and location of the viewing window, I would consider another LG to match my 2011 LG appliances. LG....you lose on this one! Will purchase another brand where I can see what's over-cooking. What on earth were you thinking? Listen to the women who use these appliances.....please.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The microwave has awesome features The microwave is really easy to use and we like the shelving in it for ease of use in heating up multiple items. I like the under lights as well as the exhaust fan for they are are a real nice added feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Microwave We have been using this MW for about six months and have been very impressed with overall results and some of the special features. Reheat, warming, and extended exhaust are all great features.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cosmetic problem I can't solve The film that covers the control buttons has unsightly bubbles that I have tried to smooth to no avail. Microwave works great, is quiet and without these bubbles would be fantastic.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Built better than I thought I bought this microwave twice. My grandson was using the microwave as a timer for the oven when it's timer failed. He was operating the microwave with nothing in it for several weeks before it finally failed as well. Most microwaves would have failed much sooner operating with nothing in it. The controls and features are great and it has good looks. A bit pricey but it seems well worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great product!!! We bought the Lg Microwave to replace a 3 year old, Top Of The Line, microwave that quit working. We loved all of the features on the display model, at Home Depot, and loved them even more once we started using it. The best feature we like is the extended vent. We have a large counter top stove and we needed the extra vent space. We highly recommend this LG Microwave to anyone looking for a replacement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dependable I have had this for several years. I like everything about it, mostly that it is still working. This is the third microwave in 9 years. The others were not LG and just quit after about 2 years. It is same size on outside as others, but the inside is very large. It does all types of things as well. Melt chocolate and butter for one. You will enjoy this product

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 3rd Times A Charm We purchased this microwave to replace an older microwave, so size was important. The first unit we received had a faulty sliding exhaust fan (it would pop open when ever we opened the door, or sometimes just on it's own). That unit was replaced with one that apparently had a bent motor shaft. We were told that was fixable but they would have to dismantle the entire unit, so we opted to just have that replaced as well. As stated above, the 3rd times the charm. We've had no issues with this unit at all and love the sleek style and power that is has. I also love the slide out exhaust fan. It gets to my front burners much better. We are quite happy now.

What do these symbols mean? Oven won't run.

The little screen on this oven has a pictures of a fan over two 0's. None of the buttons work and the oven won't start. The inner light does turn on. I have tried unplugging the oven and plugging it back in and the screen has remained the same. Anyone have an idea what is happening? Thanks!

Should the unit be sucking in air through the vent located on top of the unit?

The unit sucks in ALOT of air thru the top vent when exhaust is in use...would covering this vent increase the draw thru the extend-a-vent area? Thank you.
Asked by: SteveQ
We appreciate your interest in the operations of the ventilation of this microwave oven. The upper vent is designed to BLOW air OUT of the top of the device. The bottom vents and the ExtendaVent are both designed to pull much of the steam from the STOVE TOP usage and re-direct it through the microwave oven, and out the top, rather than all of the hot, moist air affecting the front of the microwave cabinet. For additional information, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

Should the interior light illuminate while in use ?

Every other microwave I've owned illuminated inside while in use...this is useful in judging whether food is steaming, a steam-in-bag of veg is fully expanded or a popcorn bag is fully expanded, etc.

Do any of your over oven microwaves have front ventilation?

I had an old LG Model LMV1314W. Do any of your current microwaves have similar front ventilation?
Asked by: Anonymous
I believe all over the stove microwaves have a top vent that is used for cooling the fan motors. As far as a front vent there is not one.

can you use the vent without extending it?

Asked by: mickiato
Yes, the extra vents that extend are just an addition to the vents in the rear of the exhaust vents.

question about manual

in the manual it says Make sure the slide-out hood has been moved back to rear before your microwave oven or range cooking start. that makes it sound like you can't use the vent while you're cooking, but that doesn't make sense. what does this mean?
Asked by: mickiato
Not sure why the statement was made. We use our vent out while cooking on the cooktop and using the microwave with no problems. It does stick out over the cooktop and if you want to put something in the microwave, you automatically know the vent is out.

Will this units air vent match the vent from the old unit?

The old unit is a Sharp the same size with the vent built into the overhead cabinets.
Asked by: Needreplacement
Yes, the microwave can meet any configuration, rear or top exhaust.
