What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wish I did this a long time ago! I love my new cooktop. I worried that the 5 burners would be too close together but they are all perfect for my needs. Love the backlit knobs. Easy install and so far - easy to clean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best cooktop ever! We love the speed of this cooktop. Water heats so quickly. The knobs are easily accessible and allow the gas to light easily. Having 5 burners gives options for cooking many dishes at the same time. The griddle feature is used almost daily for quick meals.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice looking but plastic parts I really love the use of this cooktop. It looks nice, cooks well and cleans easily. I was very happy with this product. The problem I have is with the knobs. After less than 2 years all 5 of the knobs have cracked and only 2 are usable. The underneath part of the knobs are made from plastic and have cracked so that turning the gas burners on is not possible. The warrantee is only good for 1 year and replacement knobs are expensive. I don't want to buy new ones every year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! High quality and very good looking on our island counter top. Happy that we converted from electric to propane gas. Installed an island range hood above and as a combination this looks great. A good buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soooo happy with this cooktop! I love my new cooktop. It looks fantastic and the features meet my needs. I love the lighted knobs. They not only look great but they are also a good safety feature. I appreciate the different size burners. It makes cooking more efficient and cleaning pots and pans easier since there is little burning or over heating. I couldn't be happier with my choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Cooktop! After having been subjected to inferior cooktops for 30+ years, this one is a godsend! My wife does the lions share of the cooking and is just amazed at how much easier it is to cook a large meal with the five burner system. The griddle is a nice extra and makes wonderful bacon and sausage! I would definitely recommed this product to anyone wanting to upgrade their cooktop! Oh, did I mention that the buttons light up with cool blue LED's? Awesome!

Asked by: alan3
According to the installation specifications for this model, the 36” cooktop will require a cut-out area measuring 19 11/16” from front to back, and 33 15/16” from side to side. There must also be a minimum of 2 3/4" between the cutout and the back wall, and 1 5/8” between the cutout and the front edge of the cabinet.

Will this operate in the event of loss of elec power. This would be LP gas.

Asked by: bbabcock
IN CASE OF POWER FAILURE In case of a power failure, you can light the gas surface burners on your cooktop with a match. Hold a lit match to the burner, then push in and turn the control knob to the LITE position. Use extreme caution when lighting burners this way. Surface burners in use when an electrical power failure occurs will continue to operate normally.

Can LG gas cooktops be used with propane?

If so, is there a loss in cooking power?
Asked by: JBrad
The conversion instructions and LP orifices are supplied with your cooktop. This cooktop is designed to operate at a pressure of 5” of water column on natural gas or 10” of water column on LP, propan or butane gas. This cooktop is convertible for use on natural or propane gas. When using this cooktop on LP gas, conversion must be made by a qualified LP installer before attempting to operate the cooktop on that gas. For LP gas, the pressure supplied must be between 10” and 13” of water column.

How do you clean cast iron grates?

Asked by: Tabby
Lift the grates out when they have cooled. They should be washed regularly and, of course, after spillovers. Wash them in hot, soapy water and rinse with clean water. When replacing the grates, be sure they are positioned securely over the burners. Replace the grates so that the continuous arcs are formed with the center ribs of all three grates. The grates are also dishwasher safe. DO NOT clean the grates in a Self Clean Oven cycle.

regarding the LSCG306ST gas cooktop: can this be converted to propane gas and are the control knobs metal or plastic?

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes. Make sure your cooktop is properly adjusted by a qualified service technician or installer for the type of gas (natural or LP) that is to be used. Your cooktop can be converted for use with either type of gas. See the Installation Instructions.

Where does the griddle go?

The instruction manual makes no sense. On page 7 it says: "The extra large burner (CENTER) is the maxium output burner ... It has a special UtraHeat setting designed ... for use with the griddle." OK so the griddle goes on the extra large burner in the center. Got it. No, wait... Page 9, "Using the Griddle". A picture with the griddle on the LEFT burners. OK maybe on the left? Page 9: "How to Place the Griddle: The griddle can only be used on the LEFT side grate." OK I guess it's on the left. Page 9, the very next sentence: "The griddle must be properly placed on the CENTER grate." What in the world?
Asked by: DScott
I apologize for the confusion with the listings in the owner’s manual for this cooktop range. The entry listed on page 7 states that the center burner is designed for use with cookware that is 10” or larger or for use with the griddle (LCG3691ST only). Since this unit is not the LCG3691ST, this statement does not apply. I will certainly be checking with our Factory regarding the conflicting statements listed on page 9. These statements were copy/pasted when the manual was created. Use of a griddle on the LEFT SIDE GRATE is the correct information.
