"Do not install the cyberlink software. For Blu Ray duplication I suggest DVDFAB version 8085 not the new 8092 version. You can also use the 8085 version to compress a blu ray movie and burn it to a dvd. For viewing a blu ray on your PC I use hp media smart..The LG 8x External USB 2.0 Blu-ray Disc Drive is powered from the usb connection and the eject button is easy to reach. If you are using windows 7 installation is as easy as plug and play. It takes about 90 minutes to copy a 2 hour blu ray movie and about 12 minutes to burn. These times will depend on your computer. The device itself is portable and so far it has outperformed all optical drives that I have owend. The"

"I bought this Blu-ray writer to burn a blu-ray of my final thesis film for college. It was a 23 minute short shot in 1080p hi-def, edited on Final Cut Pro 7, and only took a little over 2 hours to burn to a 25g blu-ray disk. I can honestly say I'm impressed, because I have heard of other blu-ray burners taking just as long for videos much shorter in length.
On top of it being absolutely worth the money in regards to performance, the product is sleek, attractive, silent, and, most importantly, portable, only needing the included USB Y-cable for power and transfer.
A great product!"

"I purchased this unit to replace an internal blu-ray writer that has been giving me problems. One thing that sold me on the BP06 was Best Buy's Overview claim that it had "Jamless Play". Once I installed the Cyberlink software, it would "burn" a blu-ray disc but would not "play" one. It immediately told me that in order to play a blu-ray disc I must purchase an $80.00 "upgrade" to the software. I was foolish enough to do it, on top of the $250.00 (including 1 day shipping) I had already paid for the unit. Even with the upgrade it still does not play a blu-ray. Every time I insert a blu-ray disc into the unit for play it immediately told me the disc "was an unsupported format" then froze my entire system to the point I had to shut the computer down then re-start. Then I discovered it apparently does not work with Windows Vista, a fact that is mentioned nowhere in Best Buy's Overview or Specifrications for the unit. After 3 days of frustration I removed the Cyberlink PowerDVD Ultra from my computer & re-installed my original PowerDVD HD software. Now it plays blu-ray, but the claim for "jamless play" is a "crock". I will not purchase anything else that comes with Cyberlink software. DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY."
