Rated 5 out of 5 by jfrich Easy to Setup & Use This is one of the best external Blu-Ray drives I have ever used. The setup is straightforward, and the instructions are clear and easy to follow so even a novice will have no problems getting it up and running. The USB cable has 2 connectors, however the drive only requires 1 to be utilized for playback. You have to use both connections when burning a Blu-Ray Disk. Overall LG's External Drive is a No-Brainer. GET ONE. June 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 It plays movies better than my Sony Blu-ray deck Opening the package was easy, setting it up was even easier. make sure you run cyberlink DVD software while you are connected to the net so it can update itself to your system. This will end any problems you have. It is not a hardware issue it's a software issue. There is a crispness to the image and a saturation to the color which is fabulous and hypnotic. I'm still waiting for my blank Blu-ray discs to arrive, but as a player it's exceptional and not having another power supply I am so thankful for. June 15, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 Poor power cord design. The USB/power cord has a mini-USB on the end of the DVD player and 2 USB plugs on the other end. If your computer does not have 2 usb cords next to each other forget buying this DVD player. Returned. May 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Chris Great little BD Player Hi all. I recently purchased a new 14" laptop. Anybody knows, Most don't come with an Internal drive. I had previously purchased a LG portable DVD Player/Burner roughly 5 years ago. And it still works. Saw the LG on sale online. Purchased it based on my previous experience. BD movies play good. I don't know about the 3D mode. My monitor doesn't support it. The only real issue I had was, With the Software. But that could've been partly Windows 8.0. 8.1 upgrade is much better. I do Auto Repair on the side. And this works great for the manuals that come on discs. January 19, 2015
