Answer:
There are two common causes of ice forming on a dehumidifier. One could be if the room temperature gets below about 65 degrees Fahrenheit. The unit should perform properly once the temperature rises. The other common possibility would be that the unit is leaking coolant, and it is freezing on the coils. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

Tube for hose does not connect

No matter what I do, I cannot attach the tube/hose designed to drain the water directly into my sump pump area. It just won't attach! If I push it up against the little spout, it won't stay in position. As a result I'm forced to empty the bucket twice a day. REALLY annoying. Whats the magic trick needed to make this work????

I had the same problem at first, but then realized that I just had to snap the hose in with a little more force. Once you hear the snap you are good to go.

Answer:
The drain pipe must be twisted into place on the rubber stopper at the end of the elbow drain hose inside the unit. It must continue to be twisted on until the plastic tab, on the drain pipe, can fit into the slot on the back of the casing.

Answer:
I apologize, but we do not have specifics as to when this particular model has been sold, as this would be related to when the individual dealers would have it available. The manufacturing time frame for this particular unit can be determined with the serial number. For more specific information, it would be recommended to contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

Humidistat Confusing or Not Working?

(Question #1) I've set the humidity setting on my unit to 70% yet a separate humidity gauge I have in the room shows that it's keeping the room at 50% or below. It doesn't matter what I set the humidity setting to. The unit will just continue to run on and off and maintain a much lower humidity setting in the room. Do I need to make service call?

(Question #2) Is it more efficient to run in 2 hour cycles or to set the humidity setting to 70%? This is for a finished basement area.

Answer:
We regret the difficulty you have experienced with this dehumidifier. If a humidity level of 70% is expected to remain in the room, and it seems that it is not, then the unit may require service. The efficiency of a dehumidifier will be evened out between the two operational settings. The 2 HR ON-OFF cycle will not allow you to regulate the humidity level, as it will run constantly for the time that it is active. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....
