What People Are Saying

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 89 reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Worked great for 3 years then quit I have used this unit year round in the basement. It worked great for three years. Last week I noticed the full light was flashing but there was no water in the container. Unplugged the unit and after repluging it in the motor started but quit after 5 minutes with the light once again flashing. June 10, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 Junk Worked great for 1 season. Now it's out of warranty and it is JUNK. June 4, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Too Noisy This dehumidifier makes too much noise which I dont like , it was placed in my basement and you can hear the noise from there. The only time you don't hear the noise is when full although it stops itself when it is full. February 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for the humid Southeast. Liked it so much we bought another identical unit. We live in a large ranch with a finished large section in our basement. We run both in the basement, one in my shop & mud room section and one in the finished area. It keeps the upstairs well dehumidified even though moist air rises. This keeps our home comfortable even at 78 degrees. This provides for a lower electric bill. These units chug a bit, so you can hear them, but I have never had a super quiet humidifier of any brand. This is feature LG might want to develop for future models. Regardless these are great units. January 1, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Died after about one year I received this machine as a "swap" because an earlier dehumidifier died while under warranty. (That was nice, though; good customer support). A few days after the warranty on this machine ended (literally, 2 days!), I noticed water condensing on the top panel of the machine. Turns out that only the top part of the refrigeration coils was working, getting freezing cold. (You can see the white ice forming on the pipe going to the top of the unit; the rest of the coil stayed relatively warm.) The machine was using a lot of electricity (which I knew, since I had it attached to a kWh meter) and not dehumidifying much. In short, a big disappointment. October 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A great product This unit is all I expected and more. It replaced a Whirlpool unit that did a decent job but was very hard to clean. I am on my second season with this model. I am using it downstairs in my home, which is about 1200 sq. ft. and I have it set to 55%. It runs for a while and shuts off, telling me it's doing the job. The humidity level matches my humidity gauge in the hall. I find that I'm emptying it once a day and I use the contents to water my house plants and my garden veggies. I strongly recommend this LG product. August 3, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by These DO NOT last We purchased one in 2011 and only used it during the summer months (3 months at the most). It was cleaned and put away for the winter. When we pulled it out for the following summer, it worked for a couple of weeks and it died. We thought that the one we got was just a one-off and purchased the same dehumidifier from Home Depot (thinking -- it can't break again? WRONG!!!). The same thing happened to the 2nd one. We are back to using our 5-6 year old dehumidifier. It's loud but it works and has not need any service at all. July 14, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by PURCHASE A YEAR AND SIX MONTHS, QUIT WORKING LOOKED TO BE A GREAT PRODUCT, BUT I WAS WRONG. UNIT QUIT AFTER 16 MONTHS. July 6, 2014

My 65 pint LG was hooked to direct drain, which is not the best fix at all. Can come disconnected over time. I bought from Home Depot 2 years ago and put in my crawl space which is 5 foot hight and gravel covered with 6 mil poly and sealed. The unit worked fine for 1 1/2 years but then started to run continueous. I had the the unit set at 50%. Now the unit will run and compressor will come on but will not remove any moisture.

Answer:
We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this dehumidifier. If the unit is running, and yet not drawing moisture, then it is likely that there is a sealed system problem. The sealed system of this particular model should have a 5 year Parts Only warranty, beginning at the time of purchase, and validated with a copy of your sales receipt. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

Answer:
The hose connector comes with the unit and must be installed on the drain that drains into the bucket. However, it leaks into the bucket and will eventually fill the bucket and shut down the unit. Use some silicone sealer around the connection to prevent the leaking.

Answer:
We appreciate your interest in this dehumidifier. This device was packaged and provided with a drain pipe that must be inserted through the back of the cabinet. The pipe must attach firmly to the elbow-drain duct, located above the tank. Once connected, your water hose can attach to the pipe, in order to allow the water to drain away from the unit. The instructions for this installation are located on page 12 of your owner’s manual.

Answer:
There is not a “normal” or “average” setting designed into a dehumidifier. The settings must remain between 35% and 70% humidity.

yes, you set it at the level you want you room to be and let it go. if the room is at your level or below it will automatically shut off. If it gets above, then it comes on again until it reaches your level again.

Answer:
Look on the left side of the device, near the floor, below the sticker that gives the model number. There should be a white sticker. That has the serial number on it.

Answer:
We appreciate your interest in this dehumidifier. Remove the tank on the device. Look inside the unit, where the tank had been located. A model / serial number label should be located on the back wall of the product.
