Quiet Operation

Quiet Operation

LG's technological advances, like the Inverter DirectDrive motor and the advanced 3-stage filtration system, were designed with quiet in mind. At 44dB, this dishwasher is among the quietest dishwashers in its class.

Split Personality

Split Personality

Enables users to vary the intensity in the upper and lower racks (e.g. delicates in the upper rack, and pots & pans in the lower rack with strong setting), accommodating different items in the same load.

Count on it

When you buy a dishwasher, you want something reliable that you can count on. Because the Direct Drive Motor uses fewer moving parts and operates more efficiently, LG confidently backs the motor with a 10-year limited warranty.

Get wise

It's unlikely you'll experience any problems with your LG dishwasher, but if you ever do, this feature helps the service center diagnose problems over the phone, or with a smart phone app, helping you minimize costly, inconvenient service calls.

What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from there are some issues but not enough to matter i bought this to replace a kenmore. i really hg and have a washer and dryer. the bottom rack is tall enough to accommodate my tall jars and tongs and cutting boards. glasses are somewhat problematical on the top rack because there is not so much room for them. but i am able, with some creative stacking, to get the job done. it is very very quiet, has alot of useful features and does a very nice job

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice and Quiet BUT I have been wanting to get a new dishwasher for 2 years, so I could have a normal conversation in the kitchen or watch a TV show without turning the volume up to a ridiculous level. I have been pleased with the low decibel level BUT we are still struggling to find an adequate cleaning setting. I have found that I was so set on quiet that I forgot, that means less water and in addition to the fact that we have hard water, it has been a challenge to get all the dishes clean even with a booster and additional rinse. The additional top (3rd) Rack has also been a disappointment in getting the silverware clean, again even with a change in the stronger spray setting. I think if there is one thing I would like to see in the future of dishwashers is a memory system to save your most often used settings, so you didn't have to set it every time you start a load.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So quiet you don't know its running I've had this dishwasher about a month. It does a great job washing the dishes. Love the adjustable rack and it's is so quiet we had to open it to see if it was on.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from corrosion Several corrosion spots on front panel - I only use stainless steel cleaner!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Design Flaws I've had my LG for about a year. It pretty and after I installed a water softner, it actually got my dishes clean (didn't before that). More unfprtunate is the fact that the racks are not designed well, they don't hold up the dishes and come unlocked during washing. Your only option for tall glasses is the bottom rack, which is NOT where glasses should be placed, especially if they are not galss (have to hand wash those). Lastly, a very disappointing feature is that the Clean Dishes light does not stay on until the machine is opened to indicate to everyone in my family that there is clean dishes in the dishwasher and not to put dirty dishes in with them (come on, that should be basic!).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not impressed I bought this dishwasher a few months ago thinking is was top of the line. I have difficulty fitting things into it. I do not find the placement of the tines that hold up dishes to be in the right place. Dishes and bowls seems to fall over and not stand up straight. Also the tines fall over very easily when I'm trying to adjust them to hold said plates and bowls. The upper rack also does not hold cups up straight. First glasses in are always falling over, I need to place a second glass/cup to help hold it up. My sister in law had a similar dishwasher and hated it enough to buy another one after a year. That being said it does clean well. That is why I give it only an average.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not designed for wine drinkers We have had this dishwasher for a week and, while it seems to work fine, I was very disappointed to discover that one cannot put wine glasses in the top rack without removing one or both cutlery trays, or lowering the top rack which means one has to be careful how the bottom rack is loaded to be sure something is blocking the arm under the top rack. I thought the cutlery tray would be so cool - freeing up space in the lower rack for dishes and pots. But if you drink a lot of wine and have long stemware, forget it. You can't use both. Our old dishwasher had the cutlery tray in the door and I wish I had stuck with this design. I guess I will get used to having to take out a cutlery tray or lower the top rack every time I wash a wine glass. Disappointed. Also no way to secure the stem of the wine glass so that it doesn't move around during the cycle.

Is there a way to just do a dry cycle. The dishes are still coming out wet even with the extra dry option selected and the rinse aid added. As well as with the extra rinse.

Asked by: David A1
I apologize, but no; this dishwasher has not been designed with a DRY ONLY cycle available. The dishwasher does not rely on a heating element for the drying process; instead, it relies on the heat that is retained by the dishes and the tub during the wash and rinse cycles to turn the moisture in the tub into humidity. Warm, moist air in the dishwasher is then pulled into a condensing duct in the door by a fan. The air then cools, which causes the humidity to condense. Room temperature air is also drawn into the duct to help the air cool down faster. When this moisture condenses into a liquid, it is drained out. Drying performance is directly affected by the amount of heat that remains in the tub after the heated rinse is performed. If your dishwasher is far away from your home’s hot water heater, it may be necessary to run the hot water tap in the sink before starting a wash cycle, to ensure that cool water is purged from the hot water lines. This will ensure your dishwasher has a consistent supply of hot water from start to finish. Using the Sanitary Rinse setting will also aid in keeping the inner drum temperature and dishes hotter before drying begins. LG dishwashers are designed to be used in conjunction with a rinse aid. Using a rinse aid will maximize the amount of water that has already been sheeted away from the dishes before the dry cycle begins. If a rinse aid is used and the performance still needs a boost, adjust the amount of rinse aid used by the indicator on the rinse aid cap. 4 is the default setting, but if necessary, set the level to 5 so more rinse aid will be used. Allow the dishwasher to completely finish the dry cycle before opening the door. If the door is opened mid dry cycle, the heat that is necessary for the hybrid dry system to work will escape. This will cause all of the dishes inside to remain wet once the cycle finishes.

Dishwasher model LDF7551BB - soap dispenser door is not opening fully during wash cycle. Have tried cleaning door tracks but problem remains. Any suggestions ?

Asked by: Paul101
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this dishwasher and its features. It is recommended to check the positioning of the dishes, to ensure that they are not obstructing the dispenser door. Also be certain that the hinges are clear, that they move freely. If this does not resolve the matter, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

How do I set the dishwasher for a high temperature wash.

Asked by: C Cove
We appreciate your interest in this dishwasher. According to the information on page 9 of the owner’s manual, it appears that pressing the EXTRA DRY and RINSE buttons, simultaneously, provides for the HIGH TEMP option.

It appears the dishWasher is on lock- how do I get it to turn on and wash?

Asked by: Too tall
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this dishwasher. The only LOCK function available on this device would be the CHILD LOCK. Press and hold the RINSE and SPRAY buttons for 3 seconds. This is how the feature is ACTIVATED. It may also DEACTIVATE the lock. If this does not resolve the matter, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

Is there a way to tell if the load is clean or dirty without opening the dishwasher?

Asked by: Sam10
Once the cycle is complete, the CLEAN light will illuminate for four minutes. To keep the CLEAN light on until the door is open, turn the power on, and then press and hold the Extra dry and Half load buttons on the control panel simultaneously until Off or On appears in the display. The dishwasher will remember this setting until manually changed. This information is found on page 7 of the owner’s manual.
