Why can I not select my own settings???

I have the DLEX2470 Dryer. I am getting ready to return this dryer.

The reason I am getting ready to return it is the discovery of very important featurs, or lack thereof, that you will ALWAYS find in dirt-cheap dyers.

1. You cannot dry cotton on low heat. You adjust the dial to cotton, medium is the lowest heat you can go. Not good if you have clothes that you are not trying to shrink.

2. The dryer cannot sense automatically if a load is dry...unless it is slam full. This is not an automatic dryer if it will not do this for you...regardless of the load size.

3. You can only do a low heat setting by selecting permanent press...which means it will only dry according to a timer...which means that you can have your clothes over-dry. You can add time, but that will only cook your clothes.

I never thought I would pay $1,000 for a dryer where I could not select the settings.

Very, very poor design.

Oh yeah...and the matching washer leaves clothes that stink...I am using Tide and Downy...both major brands. I miss having clean clothes.

Answer:
We regret the difficulty you have experienced with these products. The preset settings on the dryer are designed according to the recommendations of clothing manufacturers. It is for this reason, as well as an attempt to not ruin the clothing materials, that certain options are locked at specific settings. As for the washing machine, it is recommended to check that the detergent being used is labeled as a HIGH EFFICIENCY detergent. If it is not, then the unit will generate too many soap suds which can develop mildew, and thereby cause an odor in your laundry. If this does not appear to be the case, then the unit may need service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

Yes, this washer and dryer are both stackable with each other. You will need the WSTK1 white stacking kit for use with these units.

How to de-wrinkle clothes in the dryer?

Just bought LG true steam washer/dryer. I tried to de-wrinkle couple of things, which I used to do in my old GE dryer and they came out totally worse that they were before. How to do it the correct way?

Answer:
You have asked this question on the wrong page. This page is for DLE2250W dryer, and it is not a true steam dryer. Please verify the model number of your unit and post your question under that dryer model. However in my old dryer I would soak a clean towel, wring it out as best I could, and throw it into the dryer and let it operate for a few minutes on the heat cycle, open and remove the shirts and hang them up on plastic hangers immediately. Wrinkles are gone.

Answer:
When clothes come out wrinkled, it is typically caused by one of two events: either the clothes have dried too long or the clothes are left in the unit too long after the cycle ends. Some possible solutions to this matter are trying a shorter drying time, and removing the items while they still retain a slight amount of moisture; or remove items from the dryer immediately at the end of the cycle. If this unit has it, you may also try using the WRINKLE CARE option to continue tumbling clothes at the end of the cycle.

I don't see a light in the DLE2550W, and the owners manual does not have instructions to replace the bulb. However the Specs. indicate there is an interior light.
1. Is there a light?
2. How / what kind / how to change the bulb?

Answer:
YES, there is a light, at least in my DLE2250W dryer. As to the light, perhaps it is operating but you can't see it lit. The door must be open for the light to operate, and the room must be dark to see it, I only noticed the light that way. I was suprised when one day I left the dryer door opened and turned the laundry room light off, and there it was, a dryer light. I frankly think it has no use at all, but that's just me. As to replacing the bulb I have no idea, maybe someone else could help you, interesting that it is not in the manuals, are you sure. A phone call to LG could answer your question. I have called LG about a different question and they were very helpful.

Answer:
This is correct; the owner’s manual does not provide instructions on how to replace the drum lamp. There is such a lamp in this unit. It uses a 15 watt, 120 volt, candelabra-base bulb. Unfortunately, being that this information has not been included in the owner’s manual, the manufacturer recommends that this be replaced by a licensed service technician. As such, we cannot provide replacement instructions for this lamp. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

Answer:
yes, read the manuals you received with your dryer. I reversed my door easily as I stacked this dryer DLE2250W on top of a WM2250CW washer and I wanted both doors to open the same direction.
