Replacement drain plug

I purchased an open-box DLEC855R dryer from Best Buy over the weekend, and it appears to be missing a drain plug. I see from the pictures online that there should be a plug and black hose on the lower LEFT side of the back of the dryer. This isn't mentioned in the manual, but on my unit it's just an open drain and the water simply pours out on the floor when it runs.

Can you tell me what part is missing and how I'd go about getting a replacement?

Thanks!

Answer:
I don't think we're talking about the same part. The 5001EL2001P Accessory Assembly is the stacking kit for this dryer. It also includes a drain hose assembly, that can be used to attach to the hose on the RIGHT side of the dryer, as described on page 21 of the Owners Manual.

What I'm missing is a plug or hose that would fit the drain on the LEFT side of the back of the dryer. This connection is not pictured anywhere in the manual, but can be seen in images of the back of the dryer. Can I simply plug this drain with anything? It looks like it might be some kind of overflow drain.

Answer:
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this compact dryer. A drain cap is not an available part for this unit. However, the drain line is available. Accessories can be obtained through our parts distributor, MCM Electronics. Their contact number, for placing orders, is 800-824-9491. You can also use their website, at http://www.mcmelectronics.com/conte.... The part number for this drain pipe is 5001EL2001P.

discontinued?

I was at Home Depot and sales lady said that the new models were coming out soon. So when do they discontinue DLEC855R & WM1355HR models, I'm building a new house and want to know when these red ones will be replaced with the new model.

Answer:
The seal must be extremely tight in order to prevent any leakage on a front load washer. Due to this, the door cannot be reversed. Generally speaking, most LG dryers can have the door reversed to allow our consumers with a choice of access for easy accessibility. Please refer to the Owner’s Manual on the unit for more information.

Answer:
Unfortunately the DLEC855R is only available as a ventless hybrid condensing model. This is because this model was designed for small laundry rooms, that most likely do not have external vents.

No, the DLEC855R is a 24” model, whereas the WM2450HRA is a standard sized 27” model. However, the DLEC855R is stackable with the WM1355.
