Answer:
When the dryer is not heating, check the following:

1. The appropriate cycle was selected. Not all cycles are heat cycles. If a non-heat, air only cycle was selected, it will not heat.

2. For an electric dryer, make sure the circuit breakers are both on or have good fuses. For a gas dryer (or liquid propane), make sure the gas valve is fully open.

3. Venting is installed properly and is not kinked, torn or blocked. If the air flow is restricted through the exhaust duct, it can cause the heating element to shut on and off frequently. This can make it seem as if the unit is not heating.

Venting
Venting should be the appropriate type and length. Never use more than necessary, as this restricts airflow.

Venting should not be kinked, bent, or torn.

It is recommended that the exhaust ducts be cleaned approximately once per year to maintain peak performance.

If you continue to experience this issue, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

How do I change the vent direction?

Answer:
Your new dryer is shipped to vent to the rear. It can also be configured to vent to the bottom or side (right-side venting is not available on gas models). An adapter kit, part number 383EEL9001B, may be purchased from your LG retailer. This kit contains the necessary duct components to change the dryer vent location. Remove the rear exhaust duct retaining screw. Pull out the exhaust duct. Press the tabs on the knockout and carefully remove the knockout for the desired vent opening (right-side venting is not available on gas models). Press the adapter duct onto the blower housing and secure to the base of the dryer as shown. Pre-assemble a 4-in. (10 cm) elbow to the next 4-in. (10 cm) duct section, and secure all joints with duct tape. Be sure that the male end of the elbow faces AWAY from the dryer. Insert the elbow/duct assembly through the side opening and press it onto the adapter duct. Secure in place with duct tape. Be sure that the male end of the duct protrudes 1½ in. (3.8 cm) to connect the remaining ductwork. Attach cover plate to the back of the dryer with included screw.

Answer:
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this dryer. A bumping / thumping sound on a dryer could be related to drum rollers or the drum itself being uneven. It can only be determined once a technician inspects the unit. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....
