Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great dishwasher ! It's a handsome washer, very quite. Goes great with the other LG appliances I have replaced this year. The stainless steel both inside and out look great. Unit runs quite and no handles that stick out that hit your hips everytime you walk by it. Great buy and for the price, you can't beat it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything I wanted in a Dryer, Dryer Our previous dryer had given up. It was time to get a new dryer. We have heard about LG from friends and went to investigate. We saw one at Grand Appliance and was very much impressed. The controls were easy to understand and easy to use. It was large enough for our needs. It drys our clothing quickly.

Why isn't this model in pc richards or sears or home Depot in Ny. It can only be purchased online-how old is this product? I like it very much.

Asked by: roseann
Home Depot carries it, as does PC Richard, but not every store keeps it on site. I couldn't find it at Sears (checked online). Lowe's also carries it. I ordered this exact model on Saturday, but from Lowe's (I had a 10% off coupon). They have it shipped from the warehouse to the store nearest to where I live, then arrange for delivery and installation, which should take place in about a week. I did order my LG washer from Home Depot, and it was delivered within a couple of days. I guess they keep some items in-store and others off-site. I don't know how old this model is. What I liked about it was the stainless steel drum.

Where is the dryer exit vent outlet on the back of the unit, center, left, or right?

I assume the outlet is near the bottom of the back side, just need to know where. Does the fan have sufficient power for a six foot vertical rise in the exhaust tube (standard diameter), with elbows at top and bottom? Do the dimensions shown in the specifications section include room in the back for gas line, electric line, and vent tubing, or do the numbers simply reflect the unit itself? Also, does it need a separate water source? Thanks!
Asked by: Gerhilgerdy
Hello Gerhilgerdy. The dryer vent for the LG 7.3 cu.ft. Ultra Large SteamDryer™ with EasyLoad™ Door, Model # DLGX5781VE is located centrally in the rear of the unit just above floor level. The dryer does not need a water line connection for the steam function. It has a steam feeder that needs to be filled with tap water manually. As for venting it vertically, building codes do not require horizontal venting but venting it vertically is not standard and can cause problems i that it can act as a moisture condenser. As the steam from your dryer is vented out, the outside air cooling the sheet metal causes the steam to condense on the inside and the wetness trickles down and may leak at duct fittings, causing wetness and possible mold on affected materials. The moisture in the duct also tends to collect lint, which forms an increasingly thick layer on the vent surface, thereby reducing the efficiency of your dryer. Since vertical venting is not covered in the owner's manual, we cannot determine if the fan will have sufficient power for the six foot vertical rise in your ductwork. You may need to get an inline Dryer Vent Booster Fan. The dryer does have LG’s Flow SenseTM duct blockage sensing system which detects and alerts you to restrictions in the installed household ductwork that reduce exhaust airflow through the dryer. So you also have that to aid you...^IFV
