Specifics of the Consumer Program

  • Consumer Program Overview:

    LG is offering a payment to you for past and future energy usage of your refrigerator.

    The program anticipates that qualifying consumers will be compensated to cover the difference between the new measured energy rating for their LG refrigerator and the amount listed on the product’s original Energy Guide label at the time you purchased the refrigerator over the 14 year expected useful life of the product measured from the original date of purchase. Those of you who are already registered may have already received a portion of these payments in annual installments. LG will pay out the balance of these payments, plus replace any past payments you have failed to receive less any amount that has escheated to a government, in one lump payment.

    For those of you who have not previously registered, LG will accept your registration now. If you can provide an acceptable proof of purchase, LG will provide all payments as described above for past and future use, in one lump sum. In the event you cannot provide acceptable proof of purchase, but can provide other acceptable proof of ownership, LG encourages you to register, but compensation benefits under this program will be reduced to 7 years, instead of 14 years.

    I own one of the eligible models but I haven't been contacted. What do I do?

    LG is proactively reaching out to all consumers who have bought an affected model, but we can only get specific consumer information from the retailer who directly sold you the refrigerator. Retailers are providing this information to LG at different times, so some consumers may not have received their letters yet.

    If you haven't received a letter from LG explaining the situation, we can verify your information either online or over the phone. Either register your information on this website or call 1-888-848-1266.
