What People Are Saying

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 244 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by great sound at a great price This product gives great sound for a great price. As a movie watcher sound is everything and this sound bar delivers. Many options for sound and connections and it fits just right with it's size for most flat screen TV's. August 5, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Subwoofer Doesn't Connect to Sound Bar Bought this sound bar system. The bluetooth subwoofer worked great and was very convenient, with great sound quality; however, I went on deployment for a few months, 3 to be exact, only to come back and find out that the subwoofer was no longer paired with the sound bar. I know, "First World Problems," but if it was free I wouldn't be complaining, However, I did pay some good money for this. July 29, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome soundbar very nice, excellent product. This sound bar produces some awesome sound....goes great with my 75" 3d tv July 28, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Big sound in a little package. This soundbar is perfect for my 900 sf apartment. It fills all three rooms with full sound without disturbing my neighbors, although I certainly could. July 2, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Powerful Plenty of power for a home. The quality is great and both sound bar and TV are LG. June 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Product! We reviewed alot of sound bars before purchasing this LG model and are very pleased - the previous customers got this right! It's a great product. Very happy with how it integrates with our LG TV and bluetooth. June 2, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Poor Product Sub Woofer Failed after a few months. Took it back to the store and received another. Sub failed again and I could not return it to the store. So now I have a paper weight. May 22, 2015

Auto Power Down keeps shutting off the soundbar

I am very happy with everything about the NB3530A soundbar, however the auto power down feature is driving me crazy. Even when the TV is actively playing audio through the optical cable to the soundbar, it shuts off after 25 minutes. I have pored through the manual and fiddled with every setting, but no matter what, the soundbar shuts off after 25 minutes, whether it's playing the TV, blu ray, or a bluetooth device. The only way I can prevent the soundbar from powering down is to play with the remote control within every 25 minutes. What typically happens is the sound shuts off in the middle of a movie, and I have to turn the soundbar back on then rewind to watch what I missed. This is happening like 4 or 5 times for every movie, to the point where I just want to take the soundbar back to the store. It does the same thing whether it's plugged in optical 1 or 2, and it has behaved this way since the first time I plugged it in. Please help me figure this out, I don't want to have to return this otherwise excellent product over this problem! Thank you.

Answer:
I had the same problem. After returning the first unit and getting a replacement, still the same thing. I called LG service and no help. I tried various cables and connections, still same - unit powers down after 25 minutes. I then decided to try different audio settings on the TV. If the sound output is set to PCM, the sound bar stays on. If I change the sound setting to Dolby or DTS, it turns off after 25 minutes. Would prefer DTS, but at least it stays on now. Any ideas why it would matter?

Answer:
Have you tried turning auto power off? Are you connected to the TV with an optical cable? You may want to try changing the cable and/or connecting it to the other port on the sound bar. Other than these, you may have a defective unit...

DirecTV Receiver Setting

My DirecTV receiver is connected to HDMI inputs on my LG TV, and the soundbar is connected via an optical cable from the TV. Should my DirecTV receiver's audio setting be Dolby Digital "on" or "off"? Does the soundbar accept and decode an Dolby Digital signal? Or would it not make any difference?

Answer:
YES!!!. I have DirecTV HD Receiver, and I have Dolby Digital Set to ON: When Viewing Tv Stations The SoundBar Will Automaticly Decode the Audio Format coming through, and won't cancel one another out! Some earlier devices had this issue! Some stations are in LPCM Digital Stereo, some in DTS,and some in Dolby Digital alone: I would suggest purchasing a 4x1 optical selector! When you connect this SoundBar to Your TV's Optical Out Port,You Will Only Receive LPCM Digital Stereo Only!.But When using a Streaming Service Such as Netflix,Then DTS,Dolby Digital will Pass Through to the SoundBar! It's Best to Connect all of Your Devices To the Optical 1 Port of this SounBar Unit: I'm using a Selector with a 5volt power adapter! and Connect Tv itself Straight into the SounBars Optical 2 Port alone! Selectors/Switchers are a Must when using Multiple Devives!! Highly Recommended!!!. I hope This informations Helps Everyone Out on Audio Formats!!!.

Answer:
We appreciate your interest in this Sound Bar. Yes, this device will decode a Dolby Digital signal. If the DirecTV Receiver is connected directly to the TV, then it would be recommended to check what signals the TV can process.
