I noticed the information regarding distance vs spread at 4ft=40"/8.1=80", therefore at 12.2ft it should spread to 120" and I am wondering if at that distance it is a full 120". I have a fixed photo framed 120" projector screen and have limited distance.

Asked by: Jml1243
We appreciate your interest in this projector and its operations. The chart on page 23 of the owner’s manual provides positioning dimensions for this device. The Screen Size 3,048mm equals 120 inches. As such, the Projection Distance of 3,698mm equates to 145.6”, or 12.13 feet.

Does this DLP projector also output 2000 Color Lumens in addition to the 2000 White Lumens? Does the new Laser Light Engine solve the low Color Lumens issue found with most single chip DLP projectors?

Asked by: jon5221
Hi jon5221. Thank you for your interest in the LG Laser Smart Home Thear Projector, Model # HF80JA. Typically when a single lumens rating is stated, it is referencing how much White Light Output (WLO) the projector is capable of producing, not the total light output when color is taken into consideration. The color output (CLO), or Color Brightness may be different. In a 1-chip DLP design, light has to travel through a spinning color wheel that is divided into red, green and blue segments whereas in a 3LCD design, all of the white and color light passes through the lens continuously, projecting an equal amount of both White and Color Brightness. The 3LCD projectors employ a mirror/prism assembly (no moving color wheel) in combination with a separate chip for each primary color (red, green, blue) so both white and color continuously reach your eye for a consistent White and Color Brightness. LG's Laser Light Engine solves the issue of lamp longevity that allows the projector to operate for thousands of hours before requiring maintenance...^IFV
