Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Basic 4K/Blue Ray DVD Player I didn't need a smart dvd player since most LED TV's come with the smart feature already built in, so I was glad to find this basic player that wasn't smart. I'm not saying that it is not a great player, but that it doesn't come with all the bells and whistles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to Use I bought this a month ago and I am happy that I did. It works quite well with my LG TV (65UJ6540). This model was chosen as I did not need this unit to have Wi-Fi or the apps. My TV has the apps and Wi-Fi. The Blu Ray unit reads all discs that I used (CD, DVD, Blu Ray) as stated in the reviews. It is a very basic unit that does everything well.

Does this model decode dolby atmos ? Or just bitstream? How about DTS:X...can it bitstream it also?

Asked by: Kokoy
The LG 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc™ Player with HDR Compatibility, Model # UP875 does not support DTS:X. In the Blu-ray Disc specification, Dolby TrueHD is an optional codec. Dolby TrueHD audio tracks may carry up to 8 discrete audio channels (7.1 surround) and 20 objects of 24-bit audio at 96 kHz or up to 6 channels (5.1 surround) at 192 kHz. Since Dolby TrueHD is an optional codec, a companion Dolby Digital bitstream (2.0 192kbit/s or 5.1 448kbit/s/640kbit/s) must accompany the Dolby TrueHD bitstream on Blu-ray discs. Blu-ray Disc players consider this combination of two audio bitstreams as a single logical audio track, and a Blu-ray Disc player will automatically select the Dolby Digital or Dolby TrueHD bitstream depending on its decoding and/or audio bitstream output capabilities. A spatially-coded substream is added to Dolby TrueHD or Dolby Digital Plus. This substream represents an efficient representation of the full, original object-based mix. This is not a matrix-encoded channel, but a spatially-encoded digital signal with panning metadata. Atmos in home theaters can support 24.1.10 channels,[24] and uses the spatially-encoded object audio substream to mix the audio presentation to match the installed speaker configuration. Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD are supported with maximum 7.1 channels if you use the HDMI connection for the audio output of the unit and you will need to connect this player to an amplifies that is capable of decoding Dolby Atmos...^IFV

I just bought an LG e7 oled and up875 blue ray player. Why won't the TV remote control the blue ray player? The player goes to my yamaha receiver and then from there to the TV using HDMI cables. The old Samsung TV/blue ray combo worked fine this way?

Asked by: JLGE7
Hello, if you have the magic remote, please follow the instructions in this link to set up your remote to work your UP875. ^AC http://www.lg.com/us/support/product-help/CT10000018-20150539692863-others
