How to Replace your Water Filter

Here's all you need to know to change your refrigerator water filter. We're happy to show you how, step by step.

Keeping your refrigerator in tip top shape with a brand new water filter is a smart move. By changing your LT1000P / LT1000PC water filter on a regular basis, you'll continue to reduce contaminates such as iron, particulates and chlorine in your drinking water and ice cubes. You'll notice the difference!

The sale of counterfeit and deceptively labeled water filters is a growing problem in the U.S.. 3rd party filters are not guaranteed to properly filter water in your LG refrigerator and may cause damage not covered under the terms of LG's warranty. Always use new LG filters with your LG refrigerator. It is essential that the manufacturer's recommended installation, maintenance and filter replacement requirements be carried out for the product to perform as advertised.

The LG LT1000P / LT1000PC Replacement Refrigerator Water Filter (part# MDJ64844601) is compatible with the following LG refrigerators¹

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Filter I bought this because I have a new refrigerator and wanted to be ready when it needs a new water filter. I am happy with the one in the refrigerator now which is the same as I just bought

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product expensive price I purchased this product as it is necessary for the quality of water for the LG refrigerator. The product works, no question about it. Every six months the water filter lights on the refrigerator will flash as a reminder that the water filter needs changing (including the air filter). What do you do? Change it. I wish LG will give consideration to extending this quality product lift to 1 year and keeping the price the same. Nevertheless, I'm happy with my LG refrigerator.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps water/ice tasting great I replace these close to their recommended cycle. The quality of the water/ice is great, I have a 5 gallon water cooler and I find myself using this less and less.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good but expensive It is so easy to replace the filter in my LG refrigerator. The only thing I don't like is the price! It needs to be changed every six months which becomes expensive. My last refrigerator filter lasted one year before changing. It's great to have filtered cold water.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to install Purchased to replace filter that came with the fridge. Easy to order, arrived when promised, easy to install myself. I like having the brand recommended replacement in my almost new refrigerator so there should be no issues. Wish it wasn’t quite so expensive, but it is not more expensive that other filters.

Do you have a filter that will reduce nitrates?

Asked by: hamilton3
Hi Hamilton3. The LG 6 month / 200 Gallon Capacity Replacement Refrigerator Water Filter, Model # LT1000P, and our other water filters are tested and certified by NSF International against NSF/ANSI Standard 42, Standard 53 and Standard 401 for the reduction of Nominal Particulate Class 1 and other substances, but nitrates are not included. The most common nitrate removal method for household use is treating the water at the point of use with a Reverse Osmosis Water Fitration system or with Distillation. Our Water filters are carbon-based filters and nitrates cannot be removed with any carbon-based technology...^IFV

High on your 700-800 and 1000 model filters I was hoping to get the specs as to exactly what percentage it will filter out harmful particles. Such as Pharmaceuticals does it filter out any of the pharmaceutical stuff. Smart is the% of filtration?
