Quiet & Powerful Microwave
We bought this to replace a (not so old) Panasonic 1350W unit. So far, this LG seems to heat faster than our old unit. Maybe I'm just used to the keypad on the Panasonic but the LG keypad doesn't seem intuitive. For instance, you can't adjust the power output for a quick 30 sec blast using the EZ-On button. You can only adjust the power level after setting a cooking time, seems like just more buttons to press. The menu buttons are also very confusing. In order to use the reheat and defrost buttons, there are sub-menu buttons to press for the type of reheat (dinner plate, soups, casseroles, etc) and defrost (types of meats). Unless you like waiting for the menu to scroll through your choices, you can pull out the manual and look it up each time! This should be simplified. Hopefully, with use we'll start to remember some of these sub-menus.
We also decided on this unit (not only for the size) but wanted to try the TruCookPlus feature. We thought this would allow our 9 year old to prepare some of her own snacks. So far, we've overcooked 3 pizzas and burnt a bag of popcorn. We don't think the TCP feature really works. This might have something to the apparent under rated power since the same issue is occurring with the defrost feature. On previous units we've had, the defrost feature does its job without actually cooking. This unit leaves the edges slightly cooked (not a good thing when defrosting ground beef or a good steak). We'll have to adjust the actual weight of the meats to see if that helps.
One last thing, as noted on another review, the feet of our unit were also uneven. It apparently stand level but the front left facing foot is too short. The feet are all the same size, it looks as if the metal casing of the unit should have had bit more depth in that spot. Yes it will wobble but for the most part will be level. It's nothing a little fold-up cardboard won't fix, we just expected more the for the money we spent.

Great microwave! Some reviews I read said it was loud but I have to disagree. I love the interior size of this microwave. My what's great and what's not contradicts itself because while the size inside is amazing, it sucks that it takes up so much space. Great microwave, though. We're very pleased with it.

Very good microwave
This microwave replaced a 24" built-in GE model that died after about 20 years of service. It is a vast improvement. It passed my three critical tests with flying colors: it softened butter evenly with no melted spots, defrosted a package of chicken legs evenly with neither cooked nor frozen spots, and popped a bag of microwave popcorn so that the popcorn was done correctly and there were very few unpopped kernels. The unit is also very easy to use.
My only complaint so far is that the dimensions say 24-7/8" wide, which made me think it would fit perfectly within a 24" opening. But there are some screws that stick out of the sides, which extend it beyond 24" unless you contort the thing when inserting it. LG should consider changing the design so that the screws are countersunk or otherwise recessed.

Heats super fast. Cold cup coffee only takes about 45 seconds. My old microwave took about 1 min and 20 seconds. Super easy to clean if food spatters when warming.
