What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Way beyond my expectations I purchased this monitor on Newegg during a combo deal. I replaced a LG 25" Ultrawide 1080p. It has far succeeded my expectations. The vividness is beautiful, it has a ton of on-screen real estate and it is just absolutely mind blowing when it comes to gaming - which was the intended purpose. I am a 21:9'er for life. You pay a premium for this screen size in an ultrawide format, but it is worth it. I have no complaints...it's beautiful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for viewing many HD pdf files. Excellent for viewing many HD pdf files. Great for college graduate work. Expensive, but the many options make it all the better. I would like to see thunderbolt be able to see both computer screens ? At this point it seems only one screen is is viable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still better than Apple Display Well, I use it on MacBook (via Thunderbolt) and Windows Desktop PCs (Displayport). Yes, my Display do have the bleeding as well - but to be honest, even I'm in graphic-design business, I actually do not care that much, since most of our graphics are bright anyway and the bleeding just appear worse to the dark colours displayed on the edges - where my toolbars are. The footer of the device is ok in design... what i really like is the back. It is still plastic, sadly, but not the usual deep black other devices use. The back of my display faces into the room, so it is a joy not to have such dark area and light-consuming thing on the desk... it looks way more gentle. At this point, I am a little bit disappointed that the new release changed that and was built with a black back. ... But the 21:9 provides a lot of room for getting work done. If you are confident with that format you will take your advantage of it. Sadly, Thunderbolt and Displayport Devices are not able with the built-in Split-Screen function... And what i really don't like, even enrages me... that the Audio-Volume-Control Buttons (on Mac) won't change the actual Volume. So I had to adjust Volume EVERY SINGLE TIME on the displays joystick or on the external Bose Soundbar connected via the Audio-Out jack. Or connect the speakers directly on the headphone jack on the MacBook, but my intension was that a thunderbolt-Display should ease up the wire-mess. Also, the delivered power on the USB-ports are pretty low... 2x 500mA and 1x1.000 mA. Well, enough for most memory sticks or keyboards... but my external DVD-Device fails due energy consumption... after 4-10 fails, the DVD spins fast enough to work properly.... Since the display provides its power for USB-ports I can't understand why the power was measured that low. There are some people out there, who want to charge a mobile or a tablet with these ports. Well, at least the display port should provide a USB-signal... My PC do not recognise that but I guess since Thunderbolt depends on display port standards, it will actually work on this display - maybe my PC is not ready for that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Once you live with it, you can't live without it The quality of this monitor is outstanding. For a working designer constantly immersed in two to five Creative Cloud apps at a time, the flexibility of a single ultrawide monitor is perfect. This replaced a dual display setup that I've used for years and thought I'd never change, but where two monitors provide plenty of screen real estate, it's FIXED real estate. Not only do I have a lot more desk space now (real and virtual), I can make side-by-side windows any proportion I like. For a super-wide document (e.g. a billboard, or a long fold-out brochure) I can use the full screen and view the entire document at a humane size with no bezels to interfere. It's life-changing. Srsly. Color and overall display quality are immaculate. It's astonishingly better than I expected, and like I said in the headline, now that I've lived with it for a while, I couldn't live without it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good Curved Monitor! I got this for my music recording studio. I also do film editing. The split screen function to view 'Mix and Edit' windows is nice. The 34" screen is nice. I did a LOT of research before this purchase, and decided it was my best choice after deciding not to get a 4k monitor. This LG has great resolution, and is very user-friendly. I use a MacBook Pro, so the Thunderbolt capability in the monitor was a great plus for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Monitor. This is a great monitor. I use the monitor to play Call of Duty Advance Warfare and having the additional screen size makes all the difference. Very clear and detailed. You will need a very good video card to take advantage of what this monitor can do. If you are a gamer, this is the monitor for you. My only problem is my son keeps on using my computer even though he has dual monitors on his computer. I have also has done film editing on the my computer using the 37" monitor and the ability to have multi windows open is very useful. This is the best monitor I have every owned. I bought it at Frys and got a great deal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Window to the soul of the internet Beautiful, for that you get 5 stars. The one but is that the stand really needs to be changed. Honestly for what we paid, it should come with a better stand. Games play well, moves look better than on my old plasma in the living room. We now watch almost everything on this monitor.

I just purchased this monitor and I love it but I do have one problem. They keep telling me I'm not getting the best picture out of an hdmi cable that I should go with display port. Can. You explain more on that topic and what do I need to improve the vis

Asked by: Hobbynero
We appreciate your interest in this monitor. The video image will be presented in a fully digital format from both the HDMI and the Display Port. Both have the capability to provide whatever refresh rates are currently available from your computer. There should be no difference between the 2 connections. Does the device connected to the monitor have the capability to use a Display Port cable? Beyond this, the question becomes one of personal preference.

usb control

Are there any plans for controlling the monitor functions via USB? It would be wonderful to automatically set up PBP when both of my computers are connected and running. Navigating through the OSD via the joystick is a bit cumbersome and seeing that there's a USB hub in the back, it would make total sense to control it from my mac / windows box.

How to set monitor to 1920 by 1080p Resolution.

Hello, i recently purchased this monitor for my computer. I would like to connect my xbox to this monitor and all i can do is play in a stretched screen which isn't too great. I would like to know how to set the monitor to 1920 by 1080p (with black bars on the sides) so that the image isn't stretched and distorted. As for my computer i've been in love with this monitor. I hope someone can help me fix this problem. Thanks in advance, -Greg
Asked by: GregLM
We appreciate your interest in this monitor. The resolution adjustments to the monitor that are not performed automatically have to be adjusted at the signal source. This monitor is not designed to add the bars into the video signal, but rather will process the signal to fill the screen.

Hello Ark1, Thank you for your inquiry. Just to clarify, are you inquiring about the LG 34” Class 21:9 UltraWide™ WQHD IPS Monitor (34.0" Diagonal), Model # 34UM95-P monitor or about a TV? In your question you mention an LG TV? If you connect a PC or Macbook to your TV via the USB ports, it will not be recognized. However, if your question is with regards to the monitor, model # 34UM95-P, if you change the input on the menu while a device is connected via the Thunderbolt port, then the device in connection via the USB port may not work properly...^IFV

How do I reactivate my LG34UM95-P monitor when it goes black and says it's going to power saving mode?

I can only get it back on by rebooting my hard drive. Very inconvenient!
Asked by: patience
Go to the sleep settings on your computer and set them so that your monitor goes to sleep and doe not power down. I normally just hit the tab setting on my keyboard and the the monitor starts up again. If the above does not work, try setting your computer not to go into sleep mode, so that it is still active even though the screen goes to black.
