Rated 5 out of 5 by Great monitor for a gamer or other user Went from a 19inch old school monitor to this monitor and it was an entirely different world gaming. Great monitor and great features. I love having the choice of using DVI or HDMI to plug it in. I am very happy to own this monitor and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great monitor to use for either gaming and or watching movies. Its slim design sits great on my desk! Rated 5 out of 5 by One suggestion I am very happy with the quality and performance of this monitor. However, I have one suggestion: the connectors in back are very difficult to access. I'm sure these could be relocated with more direct output connectors. February 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome Monitor This monitor replaced an older, small monitor. The difference is striking. The color & brightness are outstanding and the 16;9 ratio make it more convenient use for work. I can have multiple windows open and still see them all. It was a gift, so I can't factor in the cost, but the quality is certainly very good. January 25, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good picture quality The product has lived up to my expectations. I use it for business, so I cannot comment to gaming or video feed, but the picture is clear and a great size for my desk. November 26, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great features This is my first LG product. Also my first flat screen monitor. In the display area of monitors this 23 inch LG stood out because of the clear picture. The others were just okay October 27, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Epic Display Finally choosing this display was a long process for me. I took several weeks doing research on NewEgg, Best Buy, and PCMag looking for the best display. I read all about these cheap, but "good" Asus, Acer, and Hannspree displays, but I was not very enthused. I kept looking back at the more expensive LG, Samsung, and Dell displays. I was upgrading from a 2007 Dell 21-Inch UltraSharp Display and had seen my dad's 2011 LG 23-Inch LED Display, so I knew what quality to expect from these brands. Unable to make a decision for myself, I walked in to Best Buy and got the opinion of a sales associate. He told me that Asus and Acer make good displays, but really the best quality displays are LG, Samsung, and Dell. The Samsung and Dell displays were both overpriced at $40 more than the LG display and $70 more than the Acer and Asus displays. Samsung and Dell were officially out of the competition; I was not going to pay nearly $300 for a 23-inch display. I contemplated the LG display, but kept going back to the Acer and Asus displays. Is the LG display worth the extra $20 to $30? I decided that it was. The sales associate even mentioned an open box item discounted from $235 to $215, so obviously I bought that one. For the same price as an Acer and Asus and for better quality, why would I not? Let me say that I made a great decision. My LG 23-Inch IPSLED235 Display is awesome; it has amazing color, brightness, and viewing angle. Neither of my Samsung HDTVs or my Sony Bravia HDTV have near as good picture quality, despite all having the same 1920px1080p resolution. I have this display connected to my MacBook, which stays in "clamshell" mode. When sitting on my desk, my MacBook and this display become an awesome desktop combo. What is the moral of this long story and review? I would recommend that when choosing a display, stick with LG, Samsung, or Dell, and avoid cheaper brands such as Acer, Asus, and Hannspree. If you are really in to video editing and photography, you might want to stick with the native high-resolution display on your laptop, especially if you have the Apple Hi-Res Antiglare Display found on 15-Inch and 17-Inch MacBook Pros, which I do not have. If you recently bought an Apple 15-Inch MacBook Pro With Retina Display, keep secondary monitors out of the question or you will be disappointed. If you are still in the mood for a larger display than 15 or 17 inches with very high resolution, just go with the very expensive ($999) Apple 27-Inch LED Cinema Display. For desktop users, this LG display is a great choice, otherwise a Acer or Asus 27-Inch display would also be awesome. Overall, for $215, this display is awesome and is the best buy (see what I did there ;P) in the vast ecosystem of HD computer monitors. You can see my setup in the attached picture below.
