LG Electronics Tops Business Week's INFO TECH 100 List

SEOUL, KOREA June 11, 2004 - In the June 21st edition of Business Week, LG electronics was selected as the #1 company on the Information Technology 100 list, beating out numerous world renowned companies. The data complied by Business Week based on financial data from Standard & Poors evaluated companies based on four criteria: total revenues, revenue growth, ROE, and shareholder return. In achieving the top spot much of LGE' success can be attributed to its rapid growth in core business areas namely mobile phones, PDP and LCD TVs due to active brand marketing in North America and Europe.

The INFO TECH 100 list is an annual event conducted by Business Week based on 10,000 publicly traded corporations. In 2003 LGE placed 67th on the list, so the 2004 placing showed a remarkable improvement. 2 other Korean companies made the list including Samsung Electronics in 11th place and SK Telecom in 23rd.
Notably absent from the list was Nokia and Sony.
